Pretty quiet during a Monday lunch period. Always love their ever-changing seasonal promotional items, and this time round it was crab season. Had the Snow Crab Meat w/ Crab Miso Gunkan ($2.50), Sow Crab Leg Handroll ($7.80), and Snow Crab w/ Vegetables Hotpot ($19.80). The sushi were pretty delicious with the star being the sweet crab meat. Definitely a must get. But it was pretty disappointing that the hotpot didn't come with any rice or noodles, and the soup can get pretty surfeiting after a few mouthfuls. Other items we got were the Roasted Salmon w/ Tenkasu Roll ($13, can never go wrong with this) the Sakura Don ($11, quite substantial portion at this price), and the Miso Beef Tendon Stew w/ Rice ($8.80, only get this if you like beef tendon).
Earliest bunch of people at the restaurant today! Cos other food places still not open yet. Had a hearty meal with friends though we wanted to go cycling but didn’t in the end due to unwelcoming rainy weather!
View of the bottom of the rainfall vortex. Some unusual sushi’s (eg. foie gras handroll) at reasonable prices. However, the quality isn’t very high - below Sushi Tei and above Sakae Sushi. The app for ordering must have been designed by a rookie, because it is most user-unfriendly.
Udon In Soup with Pork Chop ($12.80) was quite sweet for soup for first tries of drinking probably to Japanese Turnip but after that quite salty with eating with fried pork chop. Fried Pork Chop is quite delicious and crispy texture for outer skin. Its quite crowded during weekend dinners and need to wait for queue number for a while unless you don’t mind the counter sitting area when pressing for queue number over the front area. I didn’t noticed that queue system implemented at Itacho Sushi and its not so obvious to see that unless you approach help for people.
Grilled Eel With Scrambled Egg & Rice without set meal ($16.80 exclude GST and service charge) is quite expensive for dinner time but its worth for taste was soft and tender with grilled over charcoal fire having marinated teriyaki sauce. Its filled with steamed white rice and scrambled egg & onion. I prefer to order ala carte for main and side dish so I can taste more variety of sushi selling over Itacho Sushi. Really good but portion was quite small
