Totally enjoyed this super affordable salad lunch which was $9 only! Got the mushroom whiffle, which is a creative egg white omelette stuffed with spinach mushrooms and cheese, really tasty. The salmon took me by surprise - perfectly cooked! I also got really nice, sweet roasted pumpkin below.
Though the overall portion's not as massive as Omnivore's, they are still considerably generous, especially with their "mains". More importantly, the proteins are cooked well here; the chicken breast was succulent while the flaky salmon was cooked just nice (although hue wise, it looked a little too orange). Bonus points for the extra smoky finishing touch from the blowtorch.
I had mine with the couscous-like cauliflower "rice" base and staple add-ons like broccoli florets, roasted pumpkin and onsen egg. Didn't really need any sauce as the individual elements were tasty on their own. This definitely exceeded expectations!
Previously a nitro ice cream shop, Ice Queen has taken desserts off the menu and now focuses solely on salads. The strictly takeaway outlet is located in the basement of One Raffles Place, and is an attractive alternative to The Daily Cut for those working in the area, considering they offer equally well-cooked proteins at a more affordable price. A small DIY Salad ($8.90) comes with one main, one side and two toppings β enough to leave your tummy feeling satisfied without warranting a food coma at the office. Go for the more interesting mains like the Mushroom Whiffle, an egg white waffle with spinach, mushrooms and cheese, or the Cauliflower Rice. Of all the proteins offered, the tender Salmon Fillet, the incredibly tasty Ribeye Steak (add $1) and the Truffle Scrambled Eggs impressed us most. Pro tip: Complete your meal with a cup of Thai Milk Tea at just $1.50!
Avg Price: $10 per person

The Ice Queen I used to know was a nitro ice cream shop at Katong but the current one at Raffles One seems to have taken a 360 degree change into a Salad take away Store. DIY Salad from $8.90 comes with 1 main + 1 side and 2 toppings while mine was a regular ($9.90) with 2 mains (Truffle Scrambled Egg and Ribeye Steak +$1), 1 side (baby potatoes) and 2 toppings (souv vide egg and sweet corn - buried underneath the scrambled eggs). Everything was pretty decent and price point was alright too.
Despite the misleading name, Ice Queen is now actually selling healthy-ish DIY boxes. πΈ
Chicken breast β nice and moist. Ribeye beef (top up a dollar) β surprisingly tender too, and the portions were outta control! But my friend's salmon was even better, so might wanna go for that protein next time instead. πOverall, definitely worth your buck and a cheaper alternative to all the other similar offerings nearby. Do note that they don't have any seating though, so this was taken while we had a picnic right outside Raffles Place MRT π
My go-to for cheap, good, clean meals.
Buckwheat waffles as a treat to go along with healthy chicken breast, broccoli and sous vide egg.
Ice queen 's chicken breast is exceptionally tender. I'd say it's much tender, but less seasoned as compared to omnivore's. And definitely way ahead of daily cut 's league.
