Went on a Saturday during lunch and there was only Nonya dumpling left (which is what i wanted to order anyway)

the filling is just nice sweetness and the rice to filling ratio is just right too. will buy again

Chicken dumpling with chestnut, salted egg, mushroom.

Chicken is nicely cooked and actually taste sweet? Chestnut and mushroom taste good. Salted egg is quite dry. I wish there are more ingredients (more chicken) and less rice though.

Maybe I expected it to be more “wow” given its popularity.

But it’s “Ok loh”.

Yup I'm siding w the ckn as well, since it pairs better w the general sweetness of the dumpling. I would prefer a more savoury pork dumpling, not that theirs isn't good

Look at the whole salted egg yolk. Thankfully wasn't too salty, the meat was tender as well and there's blobs of fat for intense bursts of flavour. Not greasy either, but still probably don't eat it too often haha

Full bodied, both in terms of filling and flavour. One of the premier dumpling shops in SG for sure. The taste profile leans toward the sweet side though, just take note of that when you order.

P.s. the hae bee hiam powder was incredible. It's crystalline and the taste is SPECIAL

Happened to be at Hong Lim market and noticed a long queue to this stall while waiting for muffins and tarts from SL II Muffins. The stall on the 2nd level is their retail shop and the one on the 1st level is where they prepare the dumplings.

They sell traditional pork/chicken dumpling, nonya dumpling, pork belly dumpling and plain / red bean kee chang.

We bought the pork dumpling with and without salted egg that comes filled with chunks of tender lean pork, mushroom and chestnut. Although the price is a little on the high side, the quality is what we are paying for. Unlike other rice dumplings that came with minimal fillings, the fillings in Hiong Kee dumplings are generously packed with meaty goodness 》$3.70 / $4.20 (with salted egg)
