This is my first time trying appam β a flying saucer-like pancake with soft and spongy texture [as it has lost its crispness after leaving it out for a while]; dipped into the orange sugar and grated coconut for added sweetness and fragrant. Yums! π

Freshly made appam available in original, egg or cheese, paired with red jaggery sugar and freshly grated coconut @heavensappam

Previously known as Heaven's Indian Curry, this stall specialises in 2 items - thosai and appam.
.
Madame Muthuletchmi Veerapan and son Suren execute this deftly here. Their plain appam has crispy thin edges with a pillow soft center, sweet and savoury with a light sour tang from the fermented rice batter.
.
It's paired with grainy orange sugar and fluffy fresh grated coconut, lending lovely earthy sweet flavour.
.
Their 'Princess' version is all the more decadent and delicious, with melted butter, gooey cheddar cheese, and a fried egg as a crown.
.
As their stall name suggests, it's simply divine.

A must get for morning brunch for a savoury treat.
The accompanying curry and potato fillings were a little more salty than usual but nonetheless delicious .
Glad that the tangy taste is more pronounced now and thosai having more β bodyβ than my last visit .
Happy is a woman who is well - fed π.
I woke up with this huge craving for a savoury crepe and what better than a masala Thosai .
It is the embodiment of an Asian crepe and in my opinion , better than the French crepe due to its tangy note , health benefits and economical piece point .
Youβd have to pay 18 to 20 dollars for a French crepe which is typically just sparsely filled with condiments but for this - youβd only pay 2.50 and you get bang for your buck with creamy spiced potatoes and a 3 accompanying sides of sauces .
Canβt ask for more .
