Small doesn't have egg
It has abit of heat but lacks body. With the tangy chili, it's good. But not good enough to travel for since it's in the middle of nowhere, and definitely not the best. It annoys me that some professional food reviewers overhype these ulu places and waste everyone's time travelling
Havelock Road FC always appears kinda weird to me because it looks like some sort of temporary structure with its corrugated iron roof.
It houses however several good and unassuming stalls that makes your trip there worthwhile. Guang Fu is one of these stalls.
Runned by an elderly couple, they serve a good bowl of old-school laksa with fresh big cockles. Their laksa broth is rich, creamy and savoury and packs a nice spicy punch. The only downside is that they can be a little stingy with their broth and their noodles appear to soak up the broth really fast! So make haste and eat fast!
Laksa.

Chose the middle size, consider it very value for money.
Fat hums in each spoonful!
Uncle looks overworked and gaining on age :(
Better come eat soon before he retires...
Old school, traditional vibe!
I tried it a year or two back and didn’t find it great. However this time around it has gotten better. Laksa gravy is tasty, creamy and lots of prawn bits. The cockles are definitely bigger and tastier than most other laksa stalls. Am glad I gave it a try again. Yummy yummy yum yum.
"Guang Fa Laksa" had operated for close to fifteen years in Ghim Moh before moving to Havelock Food Centre (stall #01-26) nearly five years ago. Their style of laksa is heavy on "rempah" and coconut milk which means it's full of body and depth. I shared this bowl of mee and beehoon version with my mum, and she was impressed with it. No mean feat that.
