A super meh first experience. Ice cream was really grainy and chimney cake was SO STALE.💸
Ice cream served in a dough cone. Extremely sweet so only recommended for the sweet toothed!
Chimney King ($8.90) really impressed us with its rich flavour and many dimensions! Retaining the crispy yet chewy walnut pastry base, it is topped with vanilla soft serve - creamy and specked with vanilla beans. It is studded with fudge brownie pieces and drizzled with chocolate & salted caramel sauce. The different textures and flavours worked really well together! Would definitely order this again ✌🏼🌟
Was suuuper intrigued when I saw this on chope! I haven’t seen any other stores selling chimney cakes thus far. A dessert originating from Hungary and popular throughout east Europe, it comprises a pastry base reminiscent of a cross between a doughnut and a croissant. Good Food tops theirs with ice cream, sorbet or whipped cream! The chimney pistachio ($7.90) is topped with chocolate soft serve and crusted with pistachio. The nuts made it a little messy to eat, but the ice cream was very smooth and rich!!
The moment I saw the shop I was super curious and immediately went for it. The concept of the main attraction of the shop, “The Chimney Cone” is developed in Hungary and since has been passed on. It goes like this - Sweet dough circles around like a cone, with a hollow in the middle (they are perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside, which makes for a delectable snack) and the hollow centre is filled with either ice-cream or cream depending on your choice. I went for the one filled with vanilla gelato, “Chimney King” as it seemed the most appealing. It came topped with nuts, two brownie chunks, salted caramel and chocolate drizzle. The ensemble was a perfect one and tasted equally good. However, one should be very careful as the ice cream melts out before you can finish it and unfortunately it created a mess for me. However, I loved it and will be more careful next time 😁. (SGD 8.90)
Chimney King ($7.90) consisted of homemade vanilla ice cream, nuts, chocolate brownies, salted caramel and chocolate sauce. I finally tried out for chimney cone after running out of ideas for desserts. I felt that homemade vanilla ice cream is slightly lighter for taste and complemented well with salted caramel, chocolate sauce and chocolate brownies (more heavier and stronger taste). I felt that chinmey cone is a bit hard and not that soggy when adding ice cream inside. I would want to try Chimney Queen & Devil next time.
