Curry chicken, cabbage, button mushrooms. An eatery fabled for its dirt-cheap prices, but one I really don't get. The queue is crazy, but no offence, the clientele is unsophisticated and just wanna save a buck. I live near enough and have eaten two or three times. The food's downright awful, and justifies the bill.

Super long queue with super value for money Cai png (Economic Rice). Priced from S$2 for 1 vegetable and 1 meat. I queued about 25 minutes during lunch time.
For 2 meat and 2 vegetables which consisted of deep fried chicken wing, ngoh hiang, spinach and braised cabbage , I paid S$3.50. Don’t forget it’s S$1 per piece deep fried chicken wing which flew off the shelves super fast.

This place is known for its very affordably priced economical rice (chap chye png) in the Hougang area, and I went to check them out recently for lunch. I saw their price list and you can get a plate of economical rice for as low as $2 (1 meat & 1 veg or 3 veg) here! They have quite a variety of dishes to choose from and I’d highly recommend getting the fried chicken wing, it was really crispy and juicy! I liked the curry gravy too, which had that old school comforting taste!

This is a hidden place in Hougang that you could get economic rice from $2.50 for a meat with vegetables.

They have lots of choices to choose from, I hear their fried chicken was good.

A hidden gem that sells very cheap and good economical rice in Hougang. It’s near the industrial estate so do expect very long queues with construction workers packing their lunches during peak hour. Without them, the queues are still long with the local and old folks. Although the queue are always long during meal hours, it moves quite fast.

Each meat dishes is going at only $1 per serving and $0.50 for vegetables. One thing we must order when we are there is their piping hot and crispy chicken wings are fried in small batches and they gets snapped up fast.
