Sauteed mushrooms on a bed of greens, soft egg and balsamic dressing. Good, but portion is small.
Back: Duck confit ($16+)
Roasted duck leg on mash. Skin is very crispy, but meat is a little tough and salty. Definitely needed the mash to balance out the flavours.
Overall, not very satisfied hahaha
Does this place never fail to deliver? Apparently they pride themselves on consistency and not just taste
Pork ragout baked rice (7.9nett) the tomato sauce is lively, with both the olives and edamames being great additions. For 7.9 french fare, quite value for money but could definitely do with a lot more meat
Raclette cheese fondue(14.9nett) was delicious as well with the raclette cheese being really creamy and rather mellow. The black pepper made it more savoury tho
With unbelievable generous serving of great ox stew which only cost you $16, Garçons has been my favorite choice near one-north for a while!
Garçons's black miso tuna probably had the most interesting combination of elements of all the dishes curated with Edible Garden City's local produce for the Festival for Good. The sweet Japanese corn purée would definitely please any corn-lover. The black miso coating on the tuna was a unique element that set this dish apart from the normal pan seared fish dishes around. never had such a big slab melt-in-your-mouth foie gras in my entire life. not a connoisseur and can only categorise food along the line of good and bad, and i say this is so good!😍

Throw back to Thursday night dinner at Timbre+ @garcons.sg. This cheese topped with truffle and truffle oil was really tasty. I found myself finishing it when didi was the one who ordered it. The baked cheese cooled down and hardened pretty fast under the high speed ceiling fan and he had enough of it very soon after. I enjoyed the rye bread with a perfect crusty skin and pillow soft insides. Not so much by my Toothless boy though. He now has only 1 lower front tooth left for biting 😂😂 We went with our usual group of friends and we ended up shouting to be audible as well as being flustered by the lack of usual selection for kids' meal. Fish & Chips seemed to be their own choice there.
That aside, dining at Timbre+ should be good without kids. I would sit very far away from the main stage though!! We were seated right in front of @teppeidaidokoro and suffered a lot.
Needless we say, we quickly left to head over to Holland V for ice cream.
