My plate of wanton noodle came with generous portions of char siew, some obligatory greens on a mound of noodle and a bowl of wanton soup served on the side.

The highlight for me would be the moderately thick char siew which seems to come with higher fat content.

I like this char siew for its tenderness and chewiness.

The stall, aptly named Ga-Hock Roti Prata, is surprisingly operated by both a Chinese and Indian uncle. The former takes order and collect payment while the latter kneads and flip, well, pratas.

I believe the Prata here is very close to Malaysia's version of roti canai. The fish curry, for one, tasted very different from the usual.

Sambal is available here for a little top-up. I believe it is 50ยข for a saucer.

The pricing here is a little steep, unfortunately. A plain prata goes for $1.50 while one with egg is $2.20.

The prawn fritters ($2/pc) are crisp around the edges but fluffy towards the centre where it is thicker. They are best enjoyed fresh out of the fryer, otherwise, it can get quite jelak once it cooled down and the oil seep through.

Saw many cyclists taking a pit stop here. My first attempt at the prata here. Be prepared to queue. I was there at 9.30am on a Sunday and had to wait reasonably long. Different curry choices to choose from.

We did a takeaway for a birthday celebration and I must say all the dishes were excellent. Crabs were $75/kg and we ordered 2 large ones (approx 1.8kg onwards)- one chilli and one black pepper flavoured. Unlike some chilli crabs which were tomato- sweet, the chilli crab here is really good with spice level enough to excite.

All dishes did not fail. Happy that we managed to order this for the celebration.

I guess the fish head curry claypot is their signature dish. Every other table has one of these. Comes in a standard size, there are lots of vegetables in it but the fish seems pretty limited $30. Taste wise, the first few mouthfuls wowed me but after when its not exactly piping hot, the fish becomes fishy fast. Har cheong gai was excellent, served hot and extremely tasty for 10 pcs at $12. We ordered satay as well to go along, which was good too!
Lots of yummy dishes in this eating house and I definitely come back soon.
