Got the set lunch which comes with either a salad of garlic bread. Available daily from 11.30am-5pm. Also topped up $3.50 for iced lemon tea and soup of the day.
The soup came first. The soup was flavourful. Bits of mushrooms with hints of garlic(?). Loved it.
Lemon tea was ok. Didn't really had much lemon taste but I like that it wasn't too sweet.
Salad was ok. Lettuce wasn't really fresh. We wanted the garlic bread but it was unavailable.
Chicken Katsu Cheese Baked Rice ($10.80). Crispy well fried chicken on a bed of rice topped with cheese and drizzled with Japanese curry sauce. I like how in every bite there was enough cheese and curry.
Truffle Mushroom Grilled Chicken Cheese Baked Rice ($10.80). Grilled chicken was a little on the salty side but went well with the plain rice. Truffle taste was mild but present. I like that it came with broccoli, cauliflower and carrot. The cheese however was not as much as the chicken katsu baked rice. But I like how the meal was quite balanced with meat and veggies.
Sambal Prawn Fried Rice ($10.80). The prawns were spicy and tangy. It also had peas, Cucumber and onions in it. Fried rice was so so. Tasted like chicken powder fried rice. It also came with some lettuce and carrot.

I had the cheese baked rice covered in spicy garlic sauce, load with grilled fish and additional scrambled egg which costs me $12.20.
Freaking hot white rice with savoury cream sauce with garlic and chilli padi in it. Simple and yummy. Grilled fish and scrambled egg without seasoning were okay too. Cheese spam were appropriate and doesn't make you feel jelak.

π Eighteen Beef Burger ($12.90) (9.4/10)
This burger comes with a beef patty, nacho cheese, a fried egg and vegetables, sandwiched between fluffy, buttery brioche buns, with a side of shoestring fries and garlic chilli sauce. I don't know how I havent tried this earlier because it's soooo good! I haven't had a beef burger with an egg in it before so this was definitely very unique. Honestly, what else can I say other than "wow"? The beef patty was juicy with a crumbly mouthfeel, paired with the fried egg, salty nacho cheese and the gloriously fluffy burger buns, this burger is definitely one for the books. The fries are pretty standard along with the sauce, which tastes like your regular bottled garlic chilli sauce with extra toppings on it. But overall I'd get this again.
π Salted Egg Fries ($6.90) (6.5/10)
Nope. Severely overpriced and not that good. The sauce has kind of a doughy taste, it's not sweet or savoury enough. The only flavour profile I can gather from it is saltiness along with that odd doughy taste. It tastes generally quite cheap. The fries taste like your typical shoestring fries, they get kinda stale and soggy really quickly. Definitely not worth $6.90, skip this if you visit.
Can't believe I've always stuck to the DIY baked rice when this burger existed π© believe it or not, I've never tried their signature heart attack fried rice, perhaps I'll give that a go next?
π€ worth the price: burger, yes, fries, hell no
π¦ would I buy again: yess to the burger
π would I marry: yess
Food is really below expectations, service is...... Should be able to get better food in a hawker.
Always bookmarked as one of my favourite place to eat at - and now even more so with their new menu! For their DIY pasta option, theres more variety and it finally includes real meat: popcorn chicken chunks!!!, minced beef e.g. It used to be just the few options of mushroom...hot dog...
All these for $9.20 ala carte, or $7.20 for student price. Even though I have bidded student price farewell, i will still come back for their melty crust of cheese bed π
They also have more on their new alacarte menu, with baked pasta ranging from $11-$15~
Teriyaki Chicken + 2 sides (Fusilli Cheese & Fries)
The portion may seems small for big eater other than that... not too bad.
