Such a large slice for $7.80! This tart had a crunchy biscuit shell that I liked. And it was more to the sour side, which I liked even more. Lemon curd was melt in the mouth. So smooth. Very my style. Latte was $4.80. Good coffee taste.
This was marvelous when I sampled it. Not too sweet, with a touch of tang from the raspberries. No seeds detected. But it was different when I ate it at home. Got seeds 😭 But to be fair, they were softened from baking so irritation level was low. I still enjoyed it, but will give priority to the others.
P.S: they told me they will be making pineapple tarts from 1 Feb. I gotta get me some! 🤤
They were the reason I stepped in to ask for samples. Saw them sitting pretty on the table and was very tempted. You can’t really see from the pic, but they are actually cookie sandwiches with choc cream. Oooh they were decadent indeed. Instead of a rich butter taste like their cousins (Suji almond & lemon sable), these were unabashedly choc. Crumbly too. One bite produced endless crumbs, so better to cram the whole thing in your mouth. Death by choc.
I wasn’t going to buy these I swear. I didn’t even look at it. Not a fan of suji/sugee cookies cos I think they only have a sweet taste and nothing else. Then I was offered a sample and I thot, “Why not”. One pop into my mouth almost floored me. It was stunningly good! Sooo buttery and crumbly with a roasted almond fragrance mmmmm. Without a word, I about-turned and marched to the table to grab a box. Now as I’m munching away in my living room, I regretted not grabbing two.
While ordering my tart, I saw some cookies already on display for Chinese New Year. Knowing these people to be excellent bakers, I asked for samples. Oh my these lemon sable cookies were amazing! The biscuit was so buttery that it soothed the sourness of the lemon curd. And to think I almost missed them. They had to be refrigerated so they were not placed with the other cookies. Spied them hiding in the fridge display where they put their pies. If you love anything lemon, these are the ones for you.
This was the creamiest, dreamiest and most wonderful tart! The whipped cream on top was dense and thick, while the tart itself was tart (I’m so funny I know 😛). The lemony yuzu taste was piquant and very appetizing. Great for afternoon tea!
