Cafes For My Fur-baby
This was on the pricey side but well worth the splurge. The croissant was buttery and the eggs had beautiful runny yolks. This thing was very cheesy. I wanted to lick the plate.
It was too sweet for me.
The fries were freshly fried and super hot! The truffle smell was faint but got an abundance of Parmesan cheese. These were extremely enjoyable on a cloudy afternoon. I was full from the chicken sandwich but I couldn’t stop myself from popping fry after fry into my mouth.
I could have my eggs with just plain toast but I wanted more flavor so I added chorizo. Sausage was extremely juicy. And not too salty either. The scrambled eggs were very bland. So I tried to add salt & pepper. Didn’t work cos it took forever to shake them out so I gave up. Toasts were a little hard and very thinly cut. I felt it was a bit too stingy. For this price, I shd have gone for the eggs Ben.
This cup was regular. Pretty big cup. Good coffee taste. Hot too. Perfect place to chill with my fur-baby. Got a great corner table and almost everyone who walked past gave her a pat. She was so happy.
They have free jams available with purchase of bread. I happened to have this apricot one on my table. It was great! Slightly sweet and wonderfully tangy. Went very well with my toast. I’m going for their lemon jam next.
The lovely bitter tones of this flat white was the perfect partner for their cakes. With just the right amt of milk to take the edge off.
This cake really surprised me. In a pleasant way. I didn’t think much of it when it was part of the petite fours. But now that it was in a bigger version, I could really taste the distinct flavors of the choc and the kaffir leaves. And I liked it. The choc mousse was creamy and chocolatey. The choc cake at the bottom layer was deliciously moist. The kaffir managed to cut thru the richness of the choc, making it less jelat. And I enjoyed the crunchiness of the almond slices. This cake didn’t have the sickly sugar sweet taste, which was why I gave it high marks.
They don’t serve the petite fours anymore. Instead, they made full size versions of those mini desserts. Some of their petite fours were not to my taste so instead of being forced to choose 4 flavors, I could just get one.
I chose the LemonCoco cake ($7.50++), simply bcos it had the word lemon in it. It was a dense lemon cake topped with a thin coconut layer. TBH, the lemon flavor was so weak that I wouldn’t be able to tell it was lemon if I didn’t know the name. It was quite sweet too.
I knew I had over ordered but when I saw this beauty, with such a delightful name, I just couldn’t resist. I love orange and I love lavender. And this cake was the best sweet treat I tried that morning. The orange and lavender flavors really shone thru. Yes it was sweet. Much sweeter than I preferred. So I scrapped off the dollops of pure sugar frosting on top. Still too sweet but much better. Also the most expensive one at $6. Their cakes were tiny and this one was the same. I couldn’t believe I spent almost $30 there and still didn’t feel full.
Not sure whether it was bcos of the coffee, but I found this not so sickeningly sweet as the cakes. The choc taste was there. Quite a lot of choc cream inside. It was a very pleasant treat.
I got this out of desperation. Needed sthg to wash the sugar out of my mouth, and hopefully my body. This latte was good and strong. I liked the coffee taste very much. Enjoyed this so much more after the (extremely) sugary treats I had.
