This cake really surprised me. In a pleasant way. I didn’t think much of it when it was part of the petite fours. But now that it was in a bigger version, I could really taste the distinct flavors of the choc and the kaffir leaves. And I liked it. The choc mousse was creamy and chocolatey. The choc cake at the bottom layer was deliciously moist. The kaffir managed to cut thru the richness of the choc, making it less jelat. And I enjoyed the crunchiness of the almond slices. This cake didn’t have the sickly sugar sweet taste, which was why I gave it high marks.
