DOPA (Tanjong Pagar)

My go-to pistachio gelato💚💚 This is my fav outlet too the interior is so unique🧱🌿

Tried two other flavours:
🍁Maple Pecan: reminded me of Chinese walnut paste dessert...
🧈Butter Crumble: shortbread in gelato form~

The waffle had a strong buttermilk fragrance which I loveddd🧇 but would be better with some crisp on the edges!

Had the waffle with 3 for price of 2 ice cream scoop ($18).

DOPA (short for the happiness hormone, dopamine 😇) is the second outlet of Dopa Dopa Creamery. We have been fans of this unique nut-based gelataria since their inception at Clarke Quay! This December, DOPA is switching things up with 3 new gelato flavours.

𝗣𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲
Milk based, this was different from their normal pistachio gelato. The familiar pistachio nuttiness comes from the candied pistachios and house-made pistachio praline, which confers an additional sweetness.

𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲
The mascarpone cheese base was luxuriously creamy but light on the palate. When paired with a bite of waffles, the blueberry flavour stood out and the cookie crumbles added a satisfying crunch!

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗲𝘁
By leveraging the soursop’s creamy texture, DOPA has created a super refreshing sorbet which was so aromatic. The intense soursop flavours came as a pleasant surprise for us!

Those who’ve tried DOPA’s 𝗪𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘀 ($𝟲) would know that they are a little different. Instead of being the usual crispy type, we found that their waffles were particularly light and air, almost like a kueh! The staff later shared that their waffle batter is 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱, which probably contributed to its fluffiness.

At DOPA, you can also enjoy a 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 ($𝟱.𝟯𝟬) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼 ($𝟴.𝟱𝟬) with your gelato. Special mention to the affogato where you can pick any of their gelato flavours to have with your espresso shot. (we got their delightfully nutty pistachio!!) But beware that their coffee ☕️ is strong!
