Tourbillon Lemon Tart

Chose this because I asked which is the server’s personal favourite. Servers - both behind the counter and cashier - are helpful and friendly.

Coconut soft sponge, lemon marmelade, yuzu and lemon curd, yuzu light meringue

The layers adds depth to the dessert and you will not feel bored finishing it alone. Taste wise, it was more sweet than tart for me. The only thing I didn’t really like was the tart crust - it was bland and unexceptional - but I like how the other flavours and components came together.

I will probably go back and give the other desserts a try.

Encircled by the exquisite and trademark whirl, A Summer In Paris’ Tourbillon Lemon Tart ($8.80) tasted like a sweet dream.

Unassuming when displayed beside their other more colourful signatures, the traditional French-style lemon tart really stood out in its execution - smooth citrusy curd and cloud-like yuzu light meringue. Layered on with tangy lemon marmelade, the familiar pairing also had a very pleasing and subtle hint of coconut from the soft sponge hidden within. Torched lightly around the edge of the meringue, the lovely treat had a firm yet crumbly, buttery base too; adding to its whole appeal.

As featured, the Tourbillon Lemon Tart is layered with coconut soft sponge, lemon marmalade, yuzu and lemon curd and finally yuzu light meringue. Watch as the flame of a blow torch over yuzu light meringue, giving a nice brown meringue. Something citrusy and sweet and had me back for seconds. I do enjoy the crumbly and cookie-like butter tart. .
