The safer Flavours gotta be the Matcha Haven, Black Sesame, Gula Melaka & Peanut Butter. Might be tempted to try their Doritaki 恩悉ē„¼ć (šŸ’µS$2.90) next time. šŸ˜

The ice is shaved quite finely, but for the price one shouldn't expect much as well. The 4 mochi balls included is small & insignificant.
Cheap thrills, but I'd rather get two solid Ice Kachang instead as it has more ingredients, rather than just Shaved Ice, Milk & whatever flavour sauce you fancy. šŸ––šŸ»
Or maybe someone should consider Shirokuma ć—ć‚ćć¾ instead. Both are well kept secrets by the Japanese. šŸ”–

Light, fluffier shave ice to overcome the humid weather. šŸ§

smooth and creamy matcha cream with sweet azuki beans sandwiched between two mini pancakes. The matcha cream was not overly sweet and yet had a strong matcha taste, while the pancakes were SO soft and dense! yum, I'd definitely be back for this šŸ˜‹

Situated next to The Salad Stop at The Cathay, Kori King dishes out bowls of Kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) ā€” great for days when the weather gets unbearably hot. Priced at $5.90 per bowl, the light-as-air mountain of shaved ice comes with four mochi balls and is drizzled with their premium Hokkaido milk sauce and a flavoured sauce of your choice. There are eight options to choose from including sour plum, black sesame and gula Melaka. If it's your first time having Kakigori, play it safe and go for the crowd favourite, Matcha Haven. It is said that all the sauces are made using seasonal fruits and without additives. If you want to get creative, customise your Kakigori by going to town with their assortment of Toppings ($1) like azuki red beans, coconut flesh and tapioca pearls.

Found this to be relatively decent for a grab-and-go snack; the Dorayaki comes with rather generous amounts of matcha sauce and azuki beans as fillings that were both prominent in flavour yet went well together in between the fragrant pancakes of adequate denseness that wasn't too heavy yet provided a good bite.

Chanced upon Kori King, a newly opened place specializing in Kakigori, sharing the space of Salad Stop in The Cathay.

Possibly the most affordable one ($5.90) we've seen thus far - so try we did. Portion & quality was pretty good for its price. Think ice kachang, but lighter and we were surprised by how fluffy it was. Got Matcha Haven, they were very generous with their in-house milk sauce and the bittersweet matcha sauce, but it was well-balanced, not too cloying nor overly bitter. Comes with Mochi balls which they ran out of, so we got the strawberry, paired pretty well.

Others include local flavours like sour plum that I'd very much like to try; gula melaka, mango, tiramisu, black sesame and peanut butter. Each flavour is said to be made from natural sauces/ seasonal fruits, with no additives. Pretty good place to seek refuge from the crazy heat!
