I visited this place when their duck confit was still $13, and now it's $23. So at minimal I would expect a similar standard, if not better since they had a few years to improve. But they actually deproved to my disappointment. The duck confit used to be really tender and moist, with a truffle mashed potato. But now, the mashed potato has no truffle smell and the duck is on the drier side, though still pretty tender. Had the pork dish as well, but turned out to be really fatty as the fats were not well rendered. Also, they do not serve water. You got to buy a dasani bottled water. Maybe they're trying to copy the Europeans, but well, we're in Singapore. For the price I'm paying, I deserve water. To their credit they do serve a small bread basket as an appetiser for free. But I'd rather get water over bread basket honestly.

Maybe I came on a bad day, but I was pretty disappointed.

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Taste even better when go all in together with some mashed potato & sauce for extra flavour. Definitely one of my favourite dish there!

If you think that the crostini will be mushy and soft, you are absolutely wrong as even though it acts as a sponge to soak up the broth, it still retains a certain crunchiness.

From the meats section, I am impressed by their Filet Mignon Au Poivre ($42) as you are getting the most tender piece of meat that’s pepper crusted and sits on top of a pool of pepper sauce that’s spiked with cognac. You will even get a side of potato au gratin to go alongside with it, a cheesy and feel-good dish that will surely cheer you up. If you are not into meat for the day, you can also order the beautifully plated Pan Seared Norwegian Salmon ($26) served with parsley potato and sauce vierge. The next time you are at Saveur, you now know what else to order besides the pasta and duck confit.

I fell in love with their Signature Duck Confit ($19) and Saveur Pasta ($9) the first time I tried it a few years ago and guess what? I’m still in love with it. So proud to say that they had maintained the same quality since the day I first tried it. Other delectable dishes we tried are: Escargot a la Bourguignonne ($9), Seafood Bouillabaisse ($26) and Pork Cheek, Bourguignonne ($24). These French dishes were executed well and very wallet friendly. Ended our meal with their mouth watering desserts like Creme Brûlée ($10), Crepes Suzette ($10) and Pistachio Baileys Panna Cotta ($12). .

Saveur is a restaurant that serves authentic and affordable French cuisine.

I remember trying their Signature Duck Confit and liking it back when they had an outlet at Far East Plaza. Having tried it again recently, the taste was still the same after all these years with the crispy skin and tender meat. Very consistent in terms of taste, the only difference was that the price has increased. 😂

Its white counterpart, the cold vanilla ice-cream, is unadulterated goodness and I approve its quality. Can tell that real vanilla beans are used from the aplenty black specks. Not some artificial vanilla flavouring.
