Din Tai Fung uses premium chocolate and finely mashed red bean paste to make this dumpling. I will definitely order these little babies on my return visit!
I am not a fan of "pei dan" or century egg but Din Tai Fang's one is different. Imported from Taiwan, the ammonia taste isn't as strong as most of the local ones I've tried. And the finely chopped ginger on top has a delicate sweetness that is just amazing with the rich egg. Not surprisingly, I can polish off a plate of this all by myself.
