Look forward to unique German breads and pastries at this cheery bakery in TTDI. Service is friendly, and portions are generous at affordable prices – it's a great spot for weekend brunches with the family. To try a selection of their breads, The Big Backmeister (RM33) comes with a basket of breads plus a platter of meats and cheeses. To take away, pick up the sweet Hazelnut Ribbon (RM7) and Apple Strudel (RM12). On breads, the Backmeister Special (RM15), crunchy sourdough bread made with rye and wheat flour is a winner.

Freshly made breads rule the shelves at this German bakery, alongside a cabinet stocked with sweet and savoury pastries. The cafe is open as early as 8am, so swing by after your morning run for sandwiches and a cup of joe.

There’s actually a third quarter to the sandwich, but I was too excited to eat it. It’s not spicy (if that was a concern) but it does taste exactly like rendang – think more homey like the ones you’d have at Raya open houses. The cucumbers add a nice crunch and surpassingly the cheese didn’t feel that weird with it. Worth a try!

A long time favourite sandwich of mine at this place. I love the sharpness from the cheese and how it melds nicely with the sourish apples, plus there’s a sweet fruit chutney that helps bring it all together.

Sweet, nutty and scrumptious. My only tip would be to ask them to heat it up before serving so that the chocolate gets a bit gooey.
