🦑 Fried Squid with Tom Yum Mayo ($6, $8)
The squid was a bit tough and dry, but the Tom Yum Mayo it came with was delicious. Although the texture and flavour of the squid is not to our liking, the Tom Yum Mayo definitely made up for it.
🦀 Torched Jumbo Kind Crab Meat ($5)
I found the dish to be rather unremarkable as it tasted like any other crab meat. Even after trying it with the sauce provided, I still found the crab meat to be underwhelming. Overall, it was a bit disappointing.
🧋 Thai Milk Tea ($5)
What made it stand out to us was that it was less sweet than the usual ones we’ve had at Pasar Malams.
🍜 Yum Mama Seafood ($8)
This was one of the best dishes we had tried, though it was just a little on the dry side. The seafood was decent. While there may be room for improvement, the noodles was still quite satisfying overall.
🥭 Mango Sticky Rice ($10)
The rice was good and the mango was perfectly ripe and sweet. The milk was slightly salty, which was surprising at first, but it actually complemented the other flavours well. It is a good mixture of sweet and salty.
🥩 Beef Ribeye ($12)
Unfortunately, we found the texture of the beef to be tough and difficult to chew. It wasn't quite as tender as we were hoping for, and we had to chew for more than a minute to break it down.
🌭 Corn Dog ($6)
While it wasn't the best we’ve ever had, it also wasn't the worst. The one thing we didn't particularly care for was the nacho cheese that was added to it - it didn't really add anything to the dish and seemed a bit out of place.
The yum mama is especially good

One thing for sure is that there are many stalls here and the place really does emulate what a Thai night market would feel like. Some of the food options here are really quite nice too. Be prepared to spend though as the cheapest thing you can possibly find here for food is about $5. You can however find some good deals for drinks.
The ice cream still tasted pretty authentic though. Like the ones in the real chatuchak, the coconut shell cup has scoops of coconut ice cream, some coconut flesh and green jelly. Quite refreshing for a hot day if you don’t mind the price!
Had been wanting to try 大大条 fries after seeing it in many food fairs and pasar malam so finally went for it at Chatuchak!
There are 3 options of sauce to choose from:
- Regular : $7.90
- Premium : $8.90
- Half (only 1 premium sauce max) : $9.90
We chose the half option and opted for Seaweed Mayo (regular) and Mentaiko Mayo (premium). There were a total of 10 fries and each fry is super long 😂 but other than that, taste wise it's not super fantastic and the sauces were quite forgettable too.
Nonetheless, appreciate that they really use seaweed flakes for seaweed sauce instead of the usual seaweed powder haha. Good to try it once but probably won't buy it again.
We had the Pad Thai ($8), Moo Ping (3 for $5) and coconut shake ($7).
Vanna's Pad Thai was okay - slightly on the drier side but was happy with the portion. It's sweeter than most pad thai but definitely still very delicious.
Moo Ping was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! It's the corner stall beside the coconut ice cream stall and the queue is insane. Not hard to see why though. The moo ping is fantastically marbled and it's soft yet meaty at the same time. So good. It's a definite must get if you're going to Chatuchak Singapore.
Coconut shake was quite refreshing and am glad to see that only coconut, coconut water and ice was used as the ingredients! Slightly pricey but it's a huuuuge cup so not bad!
