my go to item at chateraise! can’t get enough of this
I can deal with the bad nights (or days) with this Tochiotome Strawberry Dessert Roll Cup ($7) from @chateraise.singapore! ❤❤❤
.
Featuring an abundance of Hokkaido fresh cream 🇯🇵 sandwiched between swiss roll cake layers 🍰, this beautiful creation is then topped with premium Tochiotome strawberries 🍓 straight from Japan & a blueberry just for contrasting of colours. 👌🏻 Do not expect really sweet strawberries, but I actually appreciated the tartness! 😋
.
The swiss roll cakes were not the soft & fluffy kind - slightly on the dense side but very eggy 🍳 & tasty (tasted a little like honey cake 🍯 to me). I’m usually not a fan of cream but their light & milky 🥛 Hokkaido fresh cream made an exception! Overall, I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet nor heavy, making it a delightful dessert! 💕
The highlight of the collection is the Xmas Fruits Train (S$90). Each carriage of the train is made of a different confectionery. There are roll cake, strawberry Napoleon pie, Gateau Chocolate and fruit cake. Don't you agree this is so eye-catching and sure to please the various palates?
I tasted several cake samples, and what stands out is the lightness of the creams and sponges. Really tasty, thanks in part to the milk from grass-fed cattle living at the Yatsugatake foothills.
This is one shop where I'd recommend you to just stop reading this post and head straight to the shop. The rows of colourful cakes in the display chiller will have your eyeballs popping out in delight.
Double scoop cup: chocolate mint & caramel.
It was pretty decent treat for a personal indulgence.
Yummy!
Compared to the Muscat u get two kinds of grapes so why not. The grapes are adorned on their legendary fresh cream cake so it's even better. The pione has a lovely complexity and is considerably less sour than the usual ones u get on the market while the shine Muscat is not sour at all, however it's abit one dimensional in terms of sweetness. That's why I would recommend this over the shine Muscat only cake. However as much as I love chateraise, and the cake&grapes themselves are good, they don't really fit together. Too much cream and you can't taste the cakes anymore, not enough cake and the grapes flavour overwhelms the delicate strawberry. Good to eat separately imo.
P.S. this yamanashi prefecture event won't last long and most of these limited edition cakes disappear before September
It’s pretty interesting to find at Châteraisé a Press Butter Cookie sandwich with a slab of barely alcoholic Rum Raisin ice cream. Although a significantly pricier piece of dessert from the fridge (S$4.40), I kind of find the cookie quite firm with a little bit of moisture from the freezing and melting.
Take it as a treat after a long day of work. It’s acceptably satisfying for me.
