Classic chicken rice done extremely well. Chicken was tender and delicious, especially paired with the ginger and chilli. Rice was so fragrant and we couldn't help ordering seconds. Porached Spinach and Sambal Kang King was also decent but I would totally recommend getting the Crispy Beancurd - soft on the inside and crisp outside, especially addictive when paired with the accompanying mayo.
Established since 1979, this heritage brand serves the most pricey rendition around, being among the forerunners to transit from humble eatery to full fledged zi char restaurant.
.
Their poached chicken is the star, to the extent that roast chicken is only available by advance order. The chicken meat is certainly satisfying with a tender bouncy chew, and fresh sweet savoury flavour.
.
The rice is decadently fluffy and buttery, with a glossy sheen from the chicken fat, having bold savoury sweet grainy oily flavour.
.
The iconic trio of dark sweet soy sauce with salty sweet savoury flavour, bright garlic chili with sharp spicy herbal sweet flavour, and crushed ginger with vegetal earthy herbal sweet spice flavour, completes this.

What a feast with BTK's classic chicken rice. What took it home was the chili and honeyish sauce, that just goes well with the fragrant chicken rice. Even the broccoli is done well and doused with a light honeyish sauce.
The star was the ngohhiang for me, which consists of crunchy bits of radish?
A classic no doubt ($8+)
good ol’ BTK chicken rice, loved the sides too to be honest, priced reasonably for a hearty meal with your folks! Staff were really friendly and welcomed customers, made some small talk while ordering, will definitely be back!
