Medium fatty tuna
Was disappointed the cut wasn’t as perfect with a hard to chew part
This is a microcosm of the entire meal. Portion isn't v big, the taste was good but not great, and severely overpriced. Both pear and grape were juicy but that's abt it. It's ridiculous they charge 8 for this, u can get an entire packet of shine Muscat for 30? at donki and this wasn't even as good as shine Muscat.
Honestly this place started off as a really delicious and worth it yakitori place, now it's severely overpriced. Their profit margins are crazy and the standards are not even maintained. I came with chope voucher and felt it's not worth it, please don't come without voucher. Or don't come at all tbh, there are better places for much cheaper
PS I don't comment on the service usually but if we're paying 200 bucks, it's quite funny that they spoke to us professionally, walk 2m away, then start chatting w each other in singlish and mandarin. Yes the place is tiny but we were well withint earshot and could clearly hear every single word
It really bothers me that there isn't yakitori platter for 20++ anymore. Everything yakitori is ala carte, with the thigh itself at 17++ already
Have to give credit tho, this was v tender for heart, maybe the most tender I've had. There's just a slight chew and it goes well w the ponzu.
There's one wrapped w pork that's priced at 30bucks. Jesus
This was decent but not spectacular, rlly more for nostalgia, plus it's quite hard to find elsewhere. The best part about it is the chicken soup which was as good as the first time I've had it here
Their beef tongue used to be the most tender I've had anywhere, but guess what, they took it off the menu entirely. Slow clap...
Now it's small pieces in a v mild fried rice. The beefiness still comes through w well so this is a good plate of fried rice, but to think I had a whole steak of beef tongue for the same price last time
...
Tbh the garlic sauce was pretty bomb, pork was alright. And that's not even for 60bucks standard.
It's been a while since I've tried black garlic and I have to say the slight tinge of sourness and the lack of pungency almost seems like a fruit: it's rather mild in flavour.
