Topped up $0.50 to change brown rice to spinach!! Overall not a huge portion (even for the salmon unlike the other reviews) and didn’t feel that there was much Mentaiko as well (?) but I still enjoyed my healthy meal !!! The onsen egg paired well with the vegetables and the salmon was well-cooked!

Loved the rice, which was moist yet not mushy, the distinct grains carrying a nice chew. Tom yum sauce was flavourful, but gets a tad too salty for me. The salmon was tender and moist, but the skin wasn't the crisp kind.

Mentaiko Salmon with baby spinach ($9.50 + $0.50)
First thing that hits you when you open the lid is the heavenly smell of the mentaiko sauce. My bowl contained 1 really thick slab of salmon with a thick layer of mentaiko sauce on top, together with baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, Japanese cucumber and a beautiful onsen egg garnished with white sesame seeds and what seems like bits of bonito flakes. The mentaiko sauce was very umami and creamy, very delicious. Unlike the one at Chirashi King Kong, the salmon here was cooked all the way through but not over-cooked, remaining moist and tender.
This would definitely be the healthier option but for the more satisfying option, I would still go to Chirashi King Kong for their serving of truffle rice.

Had the Mentaiko Salmon rice bowl ($9.50) from Big Bowls Project at Amoy Street Food Centre for lunch and it’s pretty yummy! The salmon is moist and soft, and the creaminess of the torched Mentaiko sauce is well balanced by the tangy cherry tomatoes (btw I swapped my cucumbers for extra cherry tomatoes because who likes cucumbers anyway🙊). The jasmine brown rice is good too. Will be great if the portion is bigger!
The salmon came in thick slabs marinated in tomyum seasoning which wasn’t overly spicy nor sour. Along with an egg and the greens, it’s a nutritious meal that doesn’t burn your pocket! However, the salmon that I received wasn’t evenly marinated leaving some parts being overly salty, otherwise it’s all good!
