Baba Charlie Blue Pea Chicken Zhang
Not bad but too peppery. Too soft too and color more on the dark side which is a sign of made too early.

A very popular shophouse for authentic traditional Nyonya kuehs in Malacca. We were greeted by a room full of biscuit, kueh & sauces. It was very crowded on a Sunday morning and the whole shop was packed with humans. There was a queue that goes from the kitchen to another room of kueh before coming back out to the cashier - it’s a one direction human traffic so there’s no turning back if you suddenly decide to get more kuehs while queueing to make payment.

For all you kueh fanatics out there - this is a place where you will satisfy all your cravings! They sell all kinds of traditional kuehs, from the usual suspects like the 9-layer kueh and kueh salat, to more unique ones like kochi puteh (shredded coconut with sesame). Best of all, they are all handmade!

I personally tried the Ondeh Ondeh and kueh salat, and really enjoyed it! They weren't too sweet and the kuehs were soft. Most of them were sold for RM10 and below, so if you're craving some kueh, it would be a great place to go to.

Getting there may be challenging without a car though, as it is located further inside from the main road.

Freshly made on the spot!! Tasty and definitely worth the visit!

I was SO excited when I arrived; reached at 1040am (the place opens at 1030am) and I was greeted by a snaking queue in a stuffy and overcrowded house but I was glad to be a part of the jostling crowd. This place was like a mini factory. You grab the kuehs in trays and join the queue to make payment at the counter. While waiting you get to see the cooks preparing the kueh in the kitchen and you can order the warm, freshly made ones then. I had to try the famed Ondeh Ondeh and yup it was pretty mind blowing. I can't seem to find good ones in Singapore. There was loads more other interesting options to try and there wasn't much time to think so I ended up grabbing a whole bunch to bring back home. (No regrets 😌) A definite must-go place for authentic Nyonya Kuehs!
