Was trying to find the Ayam penyet store that my colleague brought me before but I couldn’t and we decided to try this instead. Chicken was ok but a little small and wished that there was some sauce on the rice so the meal won’t be so dry. It wasn’t super crowded but we had to wait 20 mins for our food which was too long. Meal was $8.90
The chilli here is pretty intense and not for the faint hearted. Sadly, the rice didn’t come with any curry sauce which I am used to. Back to the chicken, it was fried for too long resulting in the chicken meat inside turning rather dry. The oil used also wasn’t fresh and it destroyed the taste of the whole dish. Definitely won’t be back for this.
The chili was the bomb... it’s so good I don’t have any word in my vocabulary to describe it. It’s delicious, fragrant, nutty and spicy with a kick.
While the chili was the highlight of this meal, the chicken and the other fried pieces were palatable too.
It was indeed a satisfying lunch.
♢CHEAP&GOOD♢
Fried till golden brown, one simply cannot get enough of how crispy and savoury this drumstick is. Add a little sambal chilli to the rice and chicken, that brings me to another level of shiokness.

I always prefer Ayam bakar over Ayam penyet because of the sauce. Love the belachan here and always end up with a stinging tongue, but it's just too shiok. If only the avocado juice was a little bigger though.
[$8] Had the Ayam Bakar (less sinful since it is grilled and not fried...). Sauce was tasty, chilli was spicy enough. Price might be a bit high for an Ayam Bakar set but justifiable considering that it is a restaurant on its own and not inside a food court.
