Throwback post - Stuffed till dun nid eat dinner š š š
The ieat Super Burger (S$15.90) was an oversized burger, and costed just one buck more than their Classic Cheeseburger.
While I must say that this would be a very hearty portion for a hungry soul, I somewhat felt that it was not exactly a āvalue for moneyā option. Given that it did not come with any side dishes, youāre pretty much left on your own to devour the dish, which comprised deep fried onions, bacon, beef patty (doneness can be adjusted to individualās preferences), tomatoes, lettuce and various sauces.
A lot of ingredients already, no? Well, I did hope that the blooming onion can be coated with batter more evenly, as evidently I found some portion of it barely cooked. Plus, with everything in, the flavours (read: saltiness) could get quite on the high side.
Between this and a Double-up Chicken, which would be a better choice? I would choose the latter the next time.
Hictory BBQ Chicken ($10.90) consisted of two side dishes (fried fries + baked potato). I realised that chicken size was too small but the hictory sauce was quite thick. Its quite affordable for western food.
Their cream of mushroom soup is reeeally creamy. I liked that there were lots of fresh, tender mushroom bits in the soup, and that it came with a slice of garlic bread on the side. Nice way to start the meal, but if you're not a fan of cream and like your mushroom soup very mushroomy, then this may not be for you.
Price: $3.80

After writing up on lesser-known upscaled, āmid-scaledā, midtown, uptown funk gonā give it to you (???) joints for a while, there was one place that Iāve always wanted to talk about and promote simple because of how accessible and amazingly delicious their dishes still remain to be. The Astons name is of course, no stranger to Singaporeās bustling chain restaurant scene. From its humble beginnings in 2005 as a western hawker stall helmed by the very man himself, Aston Soon, to a global empire with 11 brands and 35 outlets worldwide. Of course, with a business as expansive as that, it comes as no surprise that delicious food and good quality can be expected when dining at any Astonās outlet. With a vast menu including most recognisable western favourites such as Pork Chops ($12.90) and Surf & Turf ($21.90), the food at Astonās is affordable and positively consistent. Their Chargrilled Chicken ($10.90) is one simply delicious blueprint for their Grillworks Chicken menu, featuring succulent and juicy chicken with crispy skin. My personal favourite at Astonās is their Fiery Chicken ($10.90), a spicy take on their Chargrilled Chicken that promises nothing less than a savoury, spicy chicken packed with flavour. Served with two complimentary sides from their menu, the Fiery Chicken stands as my favourite chicken dish in Singapore that Iāve come to have by the dozens.
Couldnāt decide which to have. So, thank goodness for having a fellow steak-lover friend with me, we decided to try all 3 - Wagyu, Ribeye, and Sirloin.
I like the Wagyu. However, the ribeye was rather lean, and the sirloin was rather disappointing in my opinion.
