A-Poh Kitchen is a Halal Zhi Char restaurant that has been around at this corner of clementi ave 2 for at least over a decade now.
Decided to try their Assam Fish Head this time, and it was awesome.
Fish was fresh and meat was soft. Assam gravy was flavourful and not so spicy.
Very nice and friendly staff too, very patient with us as we cleared our remaining CDC vouchers for 2023
A rather Popular Halal Zhi Char place.

One of the better Curry Fish Head I had.
The other dishes were good, especially liked the pandan chicken and sambal kangkong.
Nice family gathering vibe here.
Staff here very nice as well.
Assam Curry Fish Head
Our dish was served piping hot on the plate with the fire warming the fish. It was covered with vegetables such as onions, lady fingers. tomato and long beans.
The gravy was appetizing and a great pairing to our plates of white rice. Fish was tender and fresh.
Oats Sotong
The dish is not up to my expectation as the taste of Oats does not marry well with the Sotong. Though fragrant is there and the texture of Sotong is chewy, somehow the taste was lacking in this combination.
I love the curry fish head and lemon chicken - definitely tasty. Hongkong fried noodle also not bad. And the oat prawn was good. Overall in terms of portion and price wise are both okay.

I find this dish generally ok - well fried dry beef horfun, decent portion, not too oily and is quite tasty. Only longing for more wok-hei and nicer presentation of the dish(it came out looking flat and lacking color). This dish cost $4.80.
Ah-Poh Kitchen is a true heartland gem, serving up great zichar at affordable prices. And best of all, it's halal too!
Always a go-to dish for me when I dine here. Tanghoon is cooked well with a nice hint of wok hei (could do with more though) and topped with a generous sprinkle of shredded crab meat! But unlike many fried tanghoon dishes elsewhere, this one isn't too oily, so it doesn't leave you feeling "jelak". Accompany it with cut green chili for acidity and it's lovely. This dish is $6.80.
