Not a lot variety and the brunch is from 11-3pm. But they stop pouring the wine at 2pm. Kinda disappointed. --"

This was my favourite dish as the squid is fresh and grilled just nice (soft and chewy 😋). Combining the favourites from BBQ night and Italian Brunch, Alkaff Mansion comes up with a new Italian Gourmet Buffet every 3rd Thursday of the month. You will be spoiled for choices with more than 20 dishes and not to mention their spread of dessert that are constantly refilled to satisfy the sweet tooth in all diners.

Featuring a gorgeous #dessert table at Alkaff Mansion's new Italian Gourmet Buffet held every 3rd Thursday of the month. Enjoy a selection of antipasti, pastas & pizzas, grilled meats, and dessert, of course! #burpple #burppletastemaker #foodporn

Got the chance to try out Alkaff Mansion Ristorante's newly-launched Italian Gourmet Buffet which kicks start today and is a monthly affair that happens on the third Thursday of each month at $98++ per Adult and $48++ per child. Expect a range of pasta, anti-pasta, grilled items from the BBQ grill outside, pizza and desserts, some of which comes from the weekend brunch selection while others from the Italian BBQ nights menu; something that may be worth noting if you are a fan of the two menus here. Highlights for me personally was the Oven-Baked Sea Bass in Sea Salt which was flaky, moist and covered in that fresh salty goodness while the grilled items were also decent (I liked the smokiness and doneness of the squid especially). Glad to have the opportunity of enjoying the buffet with the company of other fellow Burpple Tastemakers; thanks Burpple for the invite and Alkaff Mansion Ristorante for hosting!

Beside antipasti such as carpaccio, cheese platter, fresh oysters, you can also enjoy grilled selections such as beef striploin, lamb rack and one of my favorite featured here: Grilled Sardinian Octopus. It was tender and gave off a lovely, charred aroma.

No adornments needed when it is this well seasoned; the permeating smoky savouriness does all the talking.

There are few places that can rival Alkaff in class, beauty and serenity. This beautiful white mansion sitting atop Telok Blangah Hill oozes history and elegance, complete with a garden and fountain. You have many options when it comes to dining here, from induging in a Saturday Italian Brunch ($48) featuring a live band and a selection of pastas, pastries and desserts, to a luxurious Sunday Prosecco Brunch ($108) that allows you to sip on wine while tucking into oysters, caviar, beef, ravioli and more. In the day, you will feel transported to another time and place as you relax in the midst of all that greenery. At night, however, the space becomes magical, with an old-world charm. For dinner, enjoy composed dishes such as Sesame-crusted Tuna with Balsamic and Orange Sauce ($26), Squid Ink Tagliatalle ($32), and a classic Sardinian Suckling Pig ($46). Take a cab or drive in together, you won't want to mess up your hair walking up that slope!

Ambience: Dress to impress
Price: Avg $150 per couple

Risotto ai Funghi Porcini e Timo
($28) which is technically a Mushroom Risotto but what sets this apart will be the Porcini Mushrooms used. Porcini Mushrooms are named King of Mushrooms for its meaty texture with an earthy nutty taste! I believe the same mushrooms are used to brew the oh so rich and flavourful broth.
Try this if you can, for the price, quality and atmosphere it's pretty worth it! 😉

Housed in the most beautiful historical mansion on Telok Blangah Hill, Alkaff Mansion Ristorante is the place you want to bring your date to for a romantic date, or if you're looking to impress on a business meal. Even more spectacular is the mansion lit up at night, oozing charm and elegance. Start off with the Insalata di Polpo alla Carlofortina ($24), a salad of exceedingly tender Sardinian octopus. Then, try a really unique Sardinian pasta called Fregola ai Frutti di Mare ($28); fregola resembles Israeli couscous, and is tossed in a tomato-based sauce with mussels, clams and squid. For something heavier, order the Porcetto ($46), a succulent slow-cooked suckling pig with shatteringly-crisp skin. Finally, end off with the Panna Cotta alla Mentuccia ($14), a delightfully light, minty panna cotta with the perfect wobble.

Full name on menu: Fregola Al Frutti Di Mare

This type of pasta is only found in this small Italian island called Sardinia. You can only find this here at Alkaff Mansion because the executive chef is from there and imports them in! Very nice texture which complemented well with the seafood. Words escape me how I could better describe this, but the small size of the pasta also adds to the ease of consuming the sauce and the seafood a real delicate mouthful.

The Lobster Linguine ($42++) was nice too but there was hardly any lobster.
For a nice main, go for the Sardinian Suckling Pig ($46++) where the meat rolls off your knife, exploding with the crispy skin, succulent fat and juicy meat.

Full name on menu: Filetto Di Tonno Al Sesame Con Salsa Balsamica E Arancia

Really nicely decorated portion but more than that, this Italian version of Aburi Tuna was done really nicely. I really like how the sesame coating garnished the half cooked tuna with its light roasted flavor. Half serving was coated with black sesame and the other with white sesame; I prefer the black one because of the stronger flavor. Consistency of the seared tuna was a bit lacking as some pieces were a bit too raw and resulted in it being a bit too chewy. Nonetheless, this was a fine appetizer.

This pasta dish is skillfully prepared by the hands of the chef, tossed into the oven for a couple of minutes before serving.
The plump and juicy mussels along with an assortment of other Sardinian seafood bring out the robust flavours of the entire dish.

Strozzapreti in alba truffle porcini mushroom sauce. Anything truffle that I'm able to taste & whiff is gonna be nice, & this was great. Pasta was al dente and the cream wasn't too heavy that you won't get tired of it after tasting it for awhile.

Smoked duck carpaccio with orange and black olives. Sweet & salty at the same time, alongside with soft & crunchy texture. Perfect starter.

Soft and juicy beef tenderloin, veal ravioli in alba truffle cream sauce and porcini mushroom, asparagus soup and valrhona lava cake w pistachio icecream 😊😊 #burpple

Fancy off the menu entree. I really hope they decide to include this! I love how the chef used pistachio to change up the texture of the foie gras. So simple!

Chef really believes in fresh seafood imported from Italy, and serving so much food you cant walk out straight.

It’s not everyday you get to dine in a mansion on a hilltop. Surrounded by lush greenery atop Telok Blangah Hill, Alkaff Mansion exudes a European-styled ambiance that will have you feeling like royalty—with service standards to match. Our personal favorite is the housemade pappardelle with black pork ragout ($28). Handmade fresh daily, the pappardelle pasta is chewy and firm, with a smooth texture that lets the creamy sauce slide on easily. Marinated for seven days, the pork is soft and tender, sweetened with piquant flavors of red wine.

Beef carpaccio, jilly's surprise, veal ravioli w truffle cream sauce, oven baked sea bass w salt flambé, zabione and tiramisu. So much good food for my bday. ☺️ The beef carpaccio was so fresh that the beef is sweet! It went really well w the rocket leaves and cheese. Was curious what the surprise would be, so we ordered. Al dente spaghetti with lobster sauce(?) and fresh soft mussels.(I am not a mussels person) The veal ravioli was quite good! Almost felt like a a flattened sausage haha. One of the highlights was the sea bass. Really fresh sea bass that went well w the tomatoes! Wouldn't have minded more herbs though. Zabione and tiramisu. First time I had a zabione, and I kinda liked it! The tiramisu should have had more layers instead of cream cheese -> cake -> cream cheese. But overall it was a really good experience. I definitely love the ambience!
