One of the fish soup stalls you can find here, only open after 12pm and may need to wait longer for them to get ready.
But one they opened, there would immediately a queue in front. Their sliced fish is thick and fresh, while the soup is light and not oily. Very comforting to enjoy especially during raining season.
Rainy day set me in seeking for comfort food and apparently Han Jiang Fish Soup at Teck Ghee Square came to my mind. I’ve ordered the largest portion of slice fish (assumingly batang) soup at $8.00 to make my 40 minutes wait worth it😆 One may wonder if it’s worth the wait and my verdict is a unquestionably; Yes! They are generous with the portion of the fresh sliced fish and one of the highlight would be the thickness of the fillet which is beyond expectation😋

The portion here is so generous and the fish slices are so thickly sliced I’m crying😭 Worthy of it’s price tag ($5 onwards) unlike most other fish soup stalls charging the same or more while giving a miserable amount of thinly cut fish slices which are usually nowhere to be found swimming in your soup☹️

🍽 FUD FOR THE TUMMY
• Sliced Batang Fish Soup - Large ($8)
Good simple meal. Although it can't be compared to those sold at fish head steamboat places since they are more tasty, this is a simple dish for any day and costs about $5.50. This bowl is mid-sized at $6.50.
Have you ever queued 45mins for your food and not uds what's the hype after eating it?
