Taste So So But Looks Nice
"This IS the bill. You put your card here".. One of the worst service I've ever had. That was what was said to me when I asked for the bill. What is worst is the food was as bad. The pulled pork had no flavour whatsoever other than the slight taste of vinegar. Surprised that the burrito doesn't have any lettuce as well. And the tortilla was dry like anything. š° meh
Went to 928 Ampang Yong tau foo for dinner but it was sold out by 7pm. (Geotagged the correct place but somehow once posted it is changed šš»šš»šš») Since it was dinner time, we had no choice but to go next door. Wrong choice. ā¹ overly salty sauce that has Cai por and strong fish taste? How is that Hakka?! Even the meat paste was far from Hakka. Oh well.
Thought that it was quite innovative, Mochi in a fish shape. But felt that the Mochi dough was a bit too sticky. Unlike a Mochi that's soft and chewy, this is just soft and sticky that sticks to the insides of your mouth. The red bean wasn't great either. š maybe I'll stick to the pancake next time.
Wanted something to quench the heat. Got a coconut ice cream w red ruby, jackfruit and kidney beans. But this was quite a let down. No one should ever put salty kidney beans in a dessert. EVER. There wasn't much coconut taste in the ice cream as well. And the jackfruit was pickled. It's worst when i actually paid a premium price for this! D
Churros was too hard the first time I came and so I decided to try this again. Now the inside is too chewy and not fluffy at all. Their sauces are too watery and drips all over the table, especially with the wind. I actually brought my friend some non-baked durian cheesecake and we ended up using that as our churros dip instead. It really saved it.
Sous vide pork w grilled pineapples on top of fresh tomato and lettuce and between buttered burger buns. Sounds nice? But the pork was meh. It tasted like they just boiled it with no seasoning or whatsoever.
Was attracted to it straight away when I saw quiche. And the quiche is one of their top favorites as well. But turned out pretty meh. The pastry crust wasn't crunchy enough and had a thick inner layer. While the egg custard was more of egg than custard. Mushroom soup was pretty salty. The coffee of the day was good though. $12.80 for this lunch set. At least it had a nice ambience.
I was less than impressed with PS Cafe's food. The ribs wasn't well marinaded. It was just smeared with a lot of BBQ sauce. The apple, carrot slaw tasted really off, with the peanuts even tasting stale. Fries were well just fries...
Decided to give wheeler's yard another try because I got the latte for cheap on the sugar app. The beans they use are still a bit too bitter for my liking. Andddd who serves in a dirty cup?!
Got this from the basement, it's a corner shop and I forgot the name. Just wanted to have some nice chicken rice after a long day. But this wasn't too great :/ somehow the meat lacked flavour and the rice was blah. My mom who usu have no opinion on food said that this isn't great too. :/
Wanted to relax with a nice cup of coffee. But turned out to be too flat and sour. Sweetness of milk wasn't brought out at all either.
Tart with a Malibu salted caramel filling, choux pastry, chantilly cream and topped off with a white chocolate. Was expecting a little more from this but the tart was too soggy and the sweet white chocolate threw off the taste balance of the whole dessert. Although I must say that though I usually don't like cream, the chantilly cream was quite nice.
