What a wonderful way to end the lunch with the iconic mango sticky rice from a Thai restaurant. The glutineous rice was fragrant and not too hard. The mangoes were fresh and sweet. We loved it so much, we got 2 sets!
Love the mild spicy sauce that goes with the jade noodles. The minced meat was also a delight especially if you leave it as the last and take a whole mouthful. π€€
At $6.90 for the lunch set, it comes with a sou vide egg and a lemongrass drink. Really affordable set that leaves you just enough for desserts.
Ah the most common sharing dish in almost any cafes these days. But it still doesn't disappoints. The fries are crispy and soft on the inside while the lovely truffle flavour and the grated cheese combination plays with your sense of taste and smell.
A great starter to share among a group of friends. I like how they paired wasabi sauce instead of the common mustard sauce.
I usually do not like to order battered chicken cutlet, but this one could be one of the exceptional ones for me. I find the batter quite flavourful and the chicken meat was tender and juicy. Dipping it into the salted egg sauce, soaking up the goodness and popping it in your mouth is just pure pleasure.
The pairing of black charcoal waffles pays homage to their famous black charcoal salted egg yolk ice cream, which many who have been to Fat Cat cafe can relate to.
Recently opened corner stall in Bukit Merah View Hawker Centre and it already commands a queue of followers. The Malaysian style Char Kway Teow was slightly moist, so the taste and the wok hei flavor is packed in every bite. It has also ample amount of cockles that really didn't taste too strong for a person who doesn't take much cockles like me.
This stall also offers equally fragrant salted fish fried rice which is also acknowledged by the people who queued for it.
lightbulb! Will I get more inspiration while drinking this? However, order with caution as this was definitely on the acidic side!
The latest concept of Keisuke Group featuring a meal revolving around hamburg steak. There are only 2 main sets to order, the prime beef hamburg and the triple cheese beef hamburg. However each main entitles you to their impressive salad bar that probably stole the highlight of the show. With over 20 items to choose from and an egg station that prepares your eggs just the way you want, it's definitely hard to discipline yourself to wait for your hamburg to arrive.
The hamburg steak was incredibly tender and juicy. The cheese that oozes out tops that up a notch. Have one big mouthful of it, then slump back and just savour the moment. I can't help but let out a sigh of guilt as I just had a workout session before this π°but the overall lunch was just too good.
Lucky for me (and probably the factor to have this for lunch) that the queue was just starting to grow. I had about 3 people in the queue in front of me. I would suggest to come during lunch and avoid dinners if possible as it's hard to imagine the dinners to stay too long during lunch hours, thus making the queuing less painful.
Oh my gosh.. this dish filled with pig's lungs is just so flavorful. We kept taking spoonfuls of this when it's on our side of the table and even if it's on the other side, we still extended our reach for this. I can safely say the same goes for the other table as well. The sauce prepared really captures the dish well and it really goes well with a simple plate of rice. This is probably the dark horse of the entire meal.
Unlike the usual roasted pork we are so accustomed to locally, Lechon has a slightly different take in the roasting procedure, hence the skin still remains thin but cracker-like crispy. Almost everyone crunching on this skin had the loud cracker sound; it's highly addictive with the vinegar and liver sauce. The meat was tender and the fats are also aromatic. Pair this with beer and a great company, it's a perfect way to chat our way into fatness together lol. For the health conscious, you might want to avoid eating this too often :)
A recommended choice by @royceng. This affordable rice bowl in a coffee shop setting is probably the biggest draw factor. At about $9 for this don, you get a sou vide egg, a salmon steak creamed with mentaiko. Honestly, I was expecting 2 salmon steaks but I guess it would be out of their budget to do so. The salmon steaks were soft and slightly moist and not grilled. If I remember correctly it was also done by sou vide, hence the texture.
This is one of the famed dish in the already famous Golden Mile Food Centre. The chilli mee is a combination of dry prawn mee with some tau pok and that huge slap of chilli sauce. You can order it with other kinds of noodles instead of the normal yellow noodles as well, such as mee kia, mee pok, bee hoon, etc. Like any good food outlets in this food centre, do expect long queues during lunch hour. Enjoy that slow π₯ to your lips and tongue by the end of the meal.
