I heard that there is a new item at ToriQ and had to try it - Pepper Karage and it actually isn’t spicy at all or had any strong pepper taste. A little disappointed though. Tasted like normal Karage to me TBH. Maybe my expectations are too high and I thought of the peppery chicken I had in Sabah.

Juicy and flavourful it’s well seasoned and has lot of meat juices with every bite. It’s fried but not too oily. I love this and will always order a separate piece just to enjoy

This is one of the white pepper versions or we can call it the Teochew version of BKT. They offer steamed fish as well and the steamed fish is pretty fresh you can choose what you like here. You have a big group you really need to book and reserve a seat on peak hours on weekends and public holidays or you will end up waiting a VERY VERY LONG TIME as they have regulars that have extended family meals there. Regulars also have their own teas that they keep there. Some of these teas are rather expensive

Ok I brought an overseas guest to taste this as it’s not something they have in HK.
But I feel it was missing a crunch element. Could be better, I might make this myself at home though.

You can see from this photo how thin the pancake is - it’s less than 0.8 cm per side, if we omit the part where it is lumpy - it’s probably only 0.5cm thick
For the proportion of pancake the filling is of equivalent thickness!!

Ok I ordered the peanut butter version but it also included - Peanuts!!
The orange coloured coconut happened to be part of the earlier piece I ate and I had lots of the coconut filling left. And guess what I did?
I made a Peanut butter, Peanut and coconut pancake instead!! Triple Threat!
Peanut butter - salty and sticky
Peanuts - crunchy
Coconut - sweet and juicy
Pancake to hold it all together!
Ok I strongly recommend this version because it’s got multiple layers of flavours and textures

If you like fluffy and a thinner pancake. This is the place to go!! They have all the usual fillings that traditional pancake places offer. As for the filling it’s proportion is a lot for the pancake. Every mouthful you will find it filled with filling but be warned it can be messy to eat as filling drops all over the place - on your shirt, dress, table whatever

The mocktails really are interesting and pretty. So if you have kids you can bring them here and they will feel all “adult” having these legit looking beverages that have no alcohol while the adults get wasted with wine and beer

We went there to chill out with team mates around 4pm the place was totally empty. This was meant to be a sharing dish. I must say that the beef was a little tough, but we also got spam fries - that was totally awesome. I totally recommend getting that, we also had interesting drinks but it really took them really long to get the food and drinks out despite us being the only customers. So I wonder how it would be like during peak hours. Overall the ambience is nice great for hanging out by the pool (once it is renovated) but overall it’s not great but not terrible either.

Ok the portion is always very big but I always want other savoury flavours in my thunder tea rice - and so I got the one with the chicken prawn roll.

They are halal or I think they are because their staff are Muslim, my Muslim friends can enjoy this very healthy dish too. However I have yet to find a chilli that I like that works well with the thunder tea rice. I want something like a crispy prawn chilli I think will go well with this. What do you think?

If you want to eat traditional desserts it’s best not to be getting it here. I guess you should go with the snow ice series because it is freshly made. This is reheated for me to consume the hot version
