Sambal Sotong is my favourite dish by far!! It’s spicy with a tinge of sweetness which is exactly what I like. Portions here are enough for sharing amongst 2-3pax and they are quite affordable too!

Back here again in two weeks!! Tried the same dish again (Sambal Time 1 at $9) and I really like it! Like my friend says, it retains the authentic nasi lemak flavour even though we opt for quinoa as the base. Plus loads of fresh and tasty ingredients and very filling, everyone should try this once!! Also try the black sauce for an extra punch

Still remember this so fondly even though it’s been some time since I had it. They are probably one of the pioneers of the garden-to-table dining concept. One of the rare places in Singapore where you feel like you are inside and outside of the country at the same time. Every Singaporean should visit this place once!

Tried the highly raved laksa pizza! Very photogenic pizza but hmm it’s taste fell short of my expectations. The taopok and other ingredients didn’t really add value to the taste either but I must admit the laksa fragrance is on point. I still prefer their carbonara pizza or their classic pizzas which had a softer and thicker crust.

Very filling lunch set, portion is sufficient for one pax. I chose the wagyu beef set which is accompanied with a variety of vegetables. I chose fish soup as the soup broth while my colleague chose tom yum. My favourite part was definitely the many choices of sauces!

Their sets come with a truffle chawanmushi, free flow curry, tasty clam soup and rice. The chawanmushi really surpassed my expectations because of its infused truffle fragrance. The curry was quite similar tasting compared to other curry shops in Singapore but I guess people may prefer this because it’s lighter on the palate. For all its free sides, I think the pricing is quite reasonable. Also the servers were hospitable and even gave us free edadame!

Very yummy and fuss-free Peranakan food! Comes in portions enough to share for 2-3 pax, and I really enjoyed the sambal sotong ($8.80), sambal kangkong ($7) and nyonya ngoh hiang ($7). They have many dessert options and parents really like the chendol and pulut hitam too ($3 each) I would come back again but maybe to their more accessible outlet at Marina Square.

After reading the reviews for the Boat Quay outlet, this seemingly small bowl with not much ingredients surpassed my expectations! The torched cheese complements well with the wagyu, which is very tender and succulent to the bite. Really enjoyed it although I think they can have more cheese?

Very very delicious chirashi don and worth the price tag. The fresh slices of sashimi atop a pile of puffy and flavourful Japanese rice and coupled with ikura roe were simply glorious. The waiters were also quick to refill our teas. I also really enjoyed the ambience and vibe of the restaurant, which is nestled in Hotel Clover. Good for flowing conversations, date nights out or with close friends and family.

Healthy Nasi Lemak with unique sides such as quinoa!! Never thought nasi lemak could be healthy yet nice at the same time. Sadly I slurped up all my sambal chilli (yes it was that good) before I even finished the food. Low fat, less sugar and no MSG, what’s not to love? I love the sides especially the grilled chicken, but wish the egg omelette was bigger. Will surely be back 😋 I got the sambal time 1 for $9 (can use entertainer app) and they accept many payment modes.

A three-tier dessert of strawberries, homemade sweet clotted cream, and flash-fried filo strings, with a side of rose syrup. Not a fan of this but I’m sure it will appeal to those with an especially sweet tooth.

Missing this fried rice, really one of the best I have eaten in Singapore haha. Although it’s $10, then again we have been paying this amount for rice and poke bowls right? This is a local fusion fried in wok with shrimps, dried chili flakes and eggs. Very flavourful and every single Japanese rice grain is nicely coated, don’t miss this even if you are here for the ramen.
