From the not-so-secret Dapper Coffee's unicorn menu, I bring you the magical Unicorn Tears! With its beauty I was kind of embarrassed to order it... I whispered 'unicorn tears' softly and more audibly 'the blue sparkly drink' to the friendly staff as I don't often say those two words together. But I wanted to cry tears of joy when the glittery drink was served in a small bottle, like a magical blue potion. The pretty swirls created were mesmerising so we proceeded to shake the bottle for a couple of minutes before finally pouring it into the glass and stir it endlessly for the swirls. Looking good and fun to drink, the fruity concoction tasted sweet and a little tangy.
Throwback to clearer skies of cotton candy soy latte and pudding cakes in a flower pot!
But of course, it is more than just three letters. Probably the best lemon tart I've had in awhile, it hits all the right note. The right amount of tart, the right amount of sweet, the right amount of crunch, the right amount of smoothness. Herbs in desserts...what a welcome ingenuity. And again, one ingredient interpreted in a few textures. With this, you get basil ice cream (yaas!), that subliminally exciting basil sauce with basil seeds, and crisp basil leaf as garnish. Ok, that's all.
Take note because this is how you do it. You create chocolate cakes that are served in varying temperatures – a warm one which is dense yet fluffy and a cold one which is smooth and luscious. You then scatter superbly addicting chocolate soil that holds the chocolate sorbet so well and provides it with a grainy texture for your every mouthful. A sheet of chocolate crisp and two dollops of velvet-like chocolate sauce later, your palate is well excited. Ok, that's all.
$24. Eggs were beautifully poached and broke open to reveal luscious golden orange yolks. I liked the twist on the usual hollandaise.
The yogurt parfait is light, the rice stalks really yummy! The other items are quite general, not overly sweet which is great. However, pricey at $20 a set which includes this plate and a drink. Too big for one person, sharing recommended.
Visit @fatcatsg and you will. Their lovely dessert and ice cream will put a smile on your face.
A brioche French toast that's served with milk ice cream and maple syrup is one of the latest star studded plated desserts from Lola's and my favourite out of the 3. The magical touch was the caramelized sugar coating on the outer layer. We were also told that maple cream was pumped into the toast to create a soft, fluffy and buttery texture, which was oh-so-good.
A job well done by a skillful chef, quality dessert fit for hotel standard but with a reasonable price tag. Creme fraiche pudding, fresh mango puree, sago, biscuit... My exotic little ducky is sitting on a lemongrass bubble bath
How charming is this concept - it's an edible version of a terrarium! Every component of this "tiny garden" has been created with care to be combined into a most picturesque dessert. Within the clear plastic sphere, you can dig into dark chocolate mousse, passionfruit parfait, caramelised banana flambé with dark rum, light cocoa sponge cake with dark rum and smoked almond nougoutine. The mini size would be just right for one or two persons. Large groups can consider having the 1 kg option ($120). I'm not sure if it requires to be ordered in advance though. Best to call and check.
Modern dessert at its best! Served on a marble pillow, the moist, creamy cheesecake hides a zesty, fruity pineapple gel within.
Blobs of yuzu gel lend a tart sharpness, the crunch of chocolate and green tea soil, and the milky ice cream were delightful.
Love the Lego presentation too!
Dare you to poke it with ur fork!!! Then again once you start ur first move you wouldnt want to stop! Really beautiful delicate pieces. The atmosphere was great to really sit down and savour them. Be reminded to taste them slowly, make sure every part of ur mouth is tainted with the eclair before you swallow!!!
