4 munchies: One of the best pork jowl dishes I’ve ever eaten, the slightly charred strips of meat were grilled to tender perfection with crisp texture. The tofu purée might be light and smooth, but I’d have preferred it served as a dip on the side as there was too much purée doused on the flavourful pork. Thankfully, the mentaiko and Vietnamese-infused sauce enhanced the smokiness of the hog with savoury and fiery flavours! #Burpproved

2.5 munchies: These baby back ribs didn’t quite fall off the bone exactly the way ribs should be. Brushed with tangy BBQ sauce, each rack was smoked and grilled to tender – would have liked it to be less dry, more succulent and saucy, though. Crispy fries are served on the side.

You could also tell that carrots were grated by hand, which made the fine pieces melt into the cake batter. 4 munchies: One of the must-order dishes at Basil Thai Kitchen, this plate of prawn omelette was so fluffy and aroi that I could finish it with a bowl of piping hot steamed white rice. Though there was hardly any taste of prawns, the omelette was deep-fried to golden brown and crisp perfection with added crunch and fragrance from the basil leaf toppings. Be sure to dip the egg in the mild Sriracha that comes with it. #Burpproved
