HAPPY FRIDAY!! finally after mugging for two weeks, exams are finally over! i can finally eat more food now hehe đ craving waffles right now oh my. this was taken quite long ago btw! such a pretty presentation for these charcoal waffles ($4.70) + 2 scoops ($5.60) (matcha, brownie dunked in vanilla)! the waffles were crisp on the outside and light on the inside, but it didn't have much flavour and was pretty bland, so i recommend having a scoop of ice cream which is sweet like the Brownie Dunked in Vanilla, which was vanilla with bits of brownies in it, to make the dish less monotonous. such affordable waffles and ice cream!
also, i just posted this on my blog which i recently created so please do go check it out!! http://foodwithnic.wordpress.com (i just started so it may look pretty messy but i'll sort it out over the next few days!)
I had the Rocky Timms ($16) for dinner and it was definitely a calorie loader! I was a little disappointed with the toppings on top because they tasted cheap to me (plastic like wafers and what seemed to me like Pocky sticks), and for the price of $16 it was very overpriced in my opinion.
Read more about my experience here as I reviewed about it in my blog! http://foodwithnic.wordpress.com Do check it out as I recently started thank you! đ
finally got a chance to visit the revamped Bedok Market Place! i decided to go with Liang's Wanton Noodles ($4.50). i asked for lesser chilli and the spice level was perfect for me. they used a different type of noodles, and not the usual yellow thin noodles and more of a smooth and slippery type. it was actually not bad, it wasn't dry and was easy to eat! could've been more generous with the Char Siew though.
in this picture also includes: The Chop Chop Selection's Grilled Chicken & Olio ($9.80)
Huong Que's Grilled Pork Chop Rice ($5.50)
Uncle's Chicken Rice ($3)

this was taken a while back, so i'm not sure if they still serve this âšī¸ this is the stacked French Toast ($14), including strips of bacon, caramelised bananas, all soaked in a banana toffee sauce, and not forgetting the sprinkles of granola bits.
the banana toffee sauce had the right amount of sweetness, and when eaten together with the caramelised bananas, it was a sweetness overload. definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! #hollerout

we planned to visit Assembly Coffee but went there to find out they closed down without any notice âš i was craving for Earl Grey Waffles sigh. so we came here and i decided to try the Pulled Pork Benedict ($15) and paired it with a Matcha Latte ($6). even though i waited for the waffles to be served so i could take photos, the Pulled Pork was still soft and soaked in dressing which i adored. it wasn't dry at all! it was shredded finely, and it was a generous portion. this might be one of my favourite places for Pulled Pork! the yolk of the poached eggs flowed out smoothly. green tea lovers would love the Matcha Latte which had quite a strong matcha flavour, but wasn't too bitter.
in this picture also includes RGC Waffles ($10).
yes i'm back yet again! we tried the Snickers Oreo "Mud" Tart ($5.50) & Speculoos Short Tart ($6.80), and accompanied them with Strawberry Cream Tea ($4.20) & Apricot and Peach Tea ($4.20).
once again, it didn't disappoint. my go-to flavour is ALWAYS speculoos, and this short tart combined speculoos spread and speculoos crumbs, which made this heaven. the Snickers went together with the nuts and oreo really well. the apricot and peach tea was really sweet, a little too sweet for me, while the strawberry cream tea wasn't as sweet but had quite the flavour! it would be better if the presentation of the iced drinks looked prettier, so everything would look really presentable and aesthetic!
tried the Green Tea Bingsu ($12.50), and i must say i've tried better ones. the Green Tea flavour wasn't thorough in the shaved ice, and we ended up eating just plain ice with condensed milk at the bottom. would have been better if it was green tea flavoured ice instead of just green tea powder on the top!

a hearty Sunday brunch! i tried the Roast Beef on Wholemeal ($19), and accompanied it with a cup of Vanilla Latte ($5.50). i liked the wholemeal bread, it was crisp and had grains on top which gave the bread more texture. personally i don't quite like the fatty part of the beef, but other than that it was thinly sliced and went well with the sweet onion and the grain mustard! the Vanilla Latte wasn't too sweet, and i could still taste a tinge of coffee.
my eating experience would have been better if we sat at a bigger table because for a group of 4 people, it was as if we sat at a table for 2 and it was pretty squeezy. and it was also hard to take pictures of the food!
a simple bowl of wanton mee dry ($5) makes me reminisce my childhood! no review needed for such a famous dish that every Singaporean would love đ
i've always wanted to try caramel macchiato bingsu ($17.80) topped with caramel mochi, popcorn, crispy croutons, and a scoop of caramel ice cream with nuts in it, and it definitely didn't disappoint. where would you ever find a bingsu like that! the crispiness of the croutons balanced out the chewiness of the mochi evenly. i loved the caramel mochi a lot. overall it was pretty sweet and the coffee flavour wasn't that strong, so sweet toothed people like me, or people who don't really fancy the taste of coffee should try this! a decadent dessert indeed đ
had the tiramisu ($18) to end off the meal. definitely not cheap! but i mean that's what you get from a fine dining restaurant right. presentation definitely very pretty, but taste wise didn't have that "wow" factor which would have made my money's worth, though i liked the gold flakes which gave each bite something to crunch on. i don't think i'll come back here for the tiramisu specifically, trying it once is probably enough.
Coco Magic ($5.90). honestly too overpriced, it's basically just soft serve with crunchy coconut shavings. would prefer llaollao over this for the same price anyday
