A salad served with warm boiled potatoes, pork bacon bit, Parma ham, melted raclette cheese on a bed of green and white wine French vinaigrette.

The salad was served with thick chunks of bacon bits, fluffy boiled potatoes, and a generous helping of Parma ham. The raclette was served on toast adding a nice umami crunch to the simple salad. The white wine vinaigrette gave the dish a light but flavourful dressing, not overpowering. Simple, yet full of flavour, a very impressive dish.

The dish only comes with 2 medium sized prawns, but has that sweetness and crunchy texture that is more commonly found in Penang. A highly underrated store in the heart of Bangsar. Stracciatella is a type of Italian soft cheese that is made from buffalo milk. The name stracciatella comes from the way the cheese “stretches” and is used in the making of burrata, the “buttered” variety.

The homemade stracciatella is served with Italian olives, raw honey, and pumpkin seeds, served with a side of toasted baguette. The stracciatella is pulled thin and fresh, with the buffalo milk mixing with the olive oil giving it a decent flavour. The punch of sweetness with the crispy pumpkin seeds add a nice sweetness and texture to the dish. Quite a heavy dish for something that looks so small but very tasty. This dish should be shared.

Son-in-law (kai look keuy, ไข่ลูกเขย) eggs are a traditional Thai dish, created with hard boiled eggs, which are then coated in flour and fried, served with sweet tamarind sauce, crispy shallots and dried chillies. This dish has an interesting origin, about a mother in law who didn’t like the way her daughter was treated by her husband. She then served him these eggs as a warning, a steep price he would pay if he continued mistreating her daughter.

The son in law eggs were cooked well, with the crispy outer layer giving it a nice umami bite. The sweetness from the tamarind sauce was a little too sweet, but is somewhat counterbalanced by the pungent fried shallots. This little dish makes quite a nice side snack.
