beef lasagne ($21.90) look at that cheese pull 😍😍 this was suuuuuper cheesy and i nv thought i would think a lasagne has too much cheese but this one did LOL unfortunately the cheese to lasagne ratio was v off :( would’ve been so much better if there was more actual lasagne bc their beef and béchamel tasted rly good! had an enjoyable meal here. their service is v quick and they serve water, plus there’s 1 for 1! only downside is that the place is vv ulu. they also have a 30% off 2 pizzas deal which i want to come back and try!

speculous crush milk tea & hershey chocolate milk tea speculous biscuit toppings were nice but pearls not very chewy if you’re a fan of chewy pearls. for the hershey chocolate drink, the milk tea taste is quite strong unlike other chocolate milk tea drinks from other bbt shops where the chocolate overpowers the milk tea flavour. good to get with burpple deals!

Disappointing They no longer sell bagels but the burpple still says they do; travelled all the way down and was disappointed. Do take note if you plan to head down, they only do the box of six now.

Truffle Beef Bagel ($15.90) We got their truffle beef bagel ($12.90+$3) at the Burpple Food Street on Saturday! Lunch crowd had just rolled in and the wait for 2 bagels was more than 30 min 😓. We were also surprised by the size as it was much smaller compared to the ones given to our friend who had ordered earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️. The beef was cooked well, tender but bordering on chewy. Would give a pass on the truffle the next time as it wasn’t prominent (probably just truffle oil) and not worth the additional $3.

Butter chicken $19.9, Masala Chicken $19.9, Plain Naan $3.9 Quality restaurant Indian food which was worth the price with burpple beyond. Thanks to burpple beyond, we managed to try 2 kinds of curries for the price of one, which were the butter chicken and masala chicken. The butter chicken was more creamy and much less spicy compared to the masala chicken which was more spicy and I felt was more flavourful and had more spices in it. I enjoyed both dishes very much as they were thick, creamy and so flavorful, and both went well with the naan that was slightly chewy. The portion was not too huge, with around 5-6 chunks of chicken in each dish.

Fish Kadai (SGD $19.90) @ Peacock Restaurant. Delightfully thick chunky gravy, with tender red onions and crunchy bell peppers / capsicum, nice vegetal sweet spice salty savoury flavour. . The taste of tomato is muted, but the blend of spices is pleasant with little fiery heat. . The battered boneless fillets of king fish are soft and moist, with mild sweet savoury salty flavour. Burpple 1-for-1 Main Course We had our dinner there on a weekend and it wasn't too crowded. Beer was good; I was surprised to learn that they brew their own beer since the place didn't look much like a bar! Asked the staff for a recommendation and tried a light, malty beer. Side of spam fries was great as well, but the mains we ordered could be better. Both rice bowls had very hard, dehydrated rice, as if it has been kept and reheated for a few days. Girl: The Spicy Mentaiko Salmon bowl came with pickled vegetables and edamame which was a nice touch, but Mentaiko was a bit too sour and light for my liking, missing the creamy, full-bodied flavor of Mentaiko. Boy: Chix and Cheez felt overbaked, as the layer of cheese was quite hard when served. I think it's a nice place to grab some beers with friends, but the food has room for improvement.

Kaya Yaowarat Bun Bun was nicely buttered up and Kaya was overflowing . It’s a bit oily though, but I understand that’s needed to give this bun its wow factor

This store sells flowy Thai yaowarat buns and various milk teas. The buns are truly not to be missed as they’re super buttery and crisp with flowy and generous fillings, absolutely unreal. 🥜Peanut Butter ($3) The pb tastes like those skippy kinds, its really flowy and so rich and delicious. 🥥Pandan Kaya ($3) The kaya is surprisingly super fragrant and delicious! Though not as flowy as the other flavours, its still hella perfect. 🍫Melted Chocolate ($3.20) Rich af shes everything i wish i was 🍪Bis Choco ($3.80) My fav flavour because the biscoff crumbs are generously mixed throughout the chocolate, so its crunchy, smooth and flowy. 🍪Overfilled Speculoos ($3.80) Also super rich and thicc and chefs kiss worthy Haven’t tried their other flavours but I’ll def be down to!

Yaowarat Bread Bun The stall assistant she told me that need to consume in warm and don't let to be cold. She told me that need to order minimum x2 buns instead of 1 bun because the oven is quite big to reheat. Pandan Kaya Bun ($3) I decided to try this out today morning since it's pandan kaya and reheat by the toaster first. as indeed mentioned by the stall assistant, she told me that bun itself taste quite a bit salty due to the fillings would be quite sweet especially kaya and chocolate. I really enjoy their bun tbh especially filling was really too much for me and also grateful that I already venture somewhere that I don't wanted to do after work. Melted Chocolate Bun ($3.20) I finally tried their bun and reheat it again because the chocolate really melted once I press the bun off. It's so shiok tbh and chocolate got mixed with hazelnut (not that sweet but nutty aftertaste).

Spicy Crab Pappardelle | $24 Chilli crab pasta with cherry tomatoes, bird’s eye chillies, topped with shredded cheese and green pesto.

Crispy fish tacos $25++ The dish was served really quickly. There were 3 tacos, with crispy taco shells that tasted like nacho chips, with one piece of fried halibut fish tender in each taco, topped with some mayonnaise and mango salsa. It was overall very flavourful, with many different flavours from the mango, mayonnaise and sauce. The fish itself was fresh and tender and crispy on the outside. There were also fresh curly fries and salad which were all delicious.

Chili Crab Pasta $26+ Portion was quite generous, and the chili crab given was also very generous! Flavour wise was not too salty and spicy, tasted like tomato-base with some chili, served with pine nuts, which added a crunch to the dish.

Northern Malaysian Coconut US Beef Stew with Sourdough $22 A very lemak , 36 hour sous-vide US beef short plate and brisket with rendang-esque housemade coconut stew brimming with spices. Melt-in-your-mouth would be the most appropriate superlative. It’s topped with jiggly onsen egg and served with plenty of toasted sourdough to scoop up the saucy goodness with. - Taste: 3.5/5

Mr Kakuni Toast $19 I appreciate the unique takes on brunch at @evanskitch, the chef has really put his personal stamp on the dishes here. - Slabs of glisteningly fatty char siew sauce-glazed pork belly slices are layered over a bed of perfectly scrambled egg. The meat is cooked for 36 hours until meltingly soft, then aburi-ed for a smoky finish. - Chicken floss, as well as scallion, furikake and chilli strands add a decidedly Japanese fluorish, but what truly takes it leftfield is the passionfruit sauce and pickled papaya buried innocuously under all the under ingredients, lending a tropical sweetness to each bite. Does it all work together? Not quite, as the almost multitudinous mix and match of components can confuse the palate at times. It’s a good dish overall, but a little editing could have gone a long way. - Taste: 3/5

North Malaysian Curry Beef Stew Very delicious brunch cafe with fusion dishes. Flavours are very balanced. Smoked salmon, mentaiko with pork floss is a great combination. The curry beef stew is also very fragrant, meat is tender, and goes well with the sourdough bread.

Go For Their Beers, Food Is Just Okay Known for their wide selection of craft beers, I have been to this chain of outlets many times for their beer. Finally tried their food and sadly I was rather disappointed. The Sausage Platter ($32) was probably the only one that was worth sharing and pairing with the drinks. Most sausages were great and it came with a variety of sides. This would be great for 4! Tried the pastas but they were overcooked and was nothing much to shout out. Still, it's a bar and the craft beer selections are still great!

Lost Coast Peanut Butter Choco Stout This is one of the newer Tap outlets and it is very popular because it is within walking distance from City Hall MRT station. Today, we tried the Lost Coast Peanut Butter Choco Stout, which was a really interesting flavour as you could really taste a strong hint of peanut butter. The taste of chocolate was honestly not as strong though, but just the peanut butter notes already make for a pretty interesting touch. For those who are after interesting craft beer flavours, please do give this a try if you see it on the menu, as it is not always available at Tap! For $10++, Tap is one of the most affordable craft beer bars in Singapore. That being sad, we were not very pleased as the staff took 10 to 15 minutes to serve the beer as they forgot our order. Just to highlight, this was on a Tuesday, when the bar wasn't so busy. Hence, you might have to be prepared for this to happen on Fridays and the weekends. 😑

Best Carbonara Ever! Love the plentiful crispy bacon they add into the truffle egg pasta, and it does not taste as heavy as many other places. Thumbs up to the chef! Seafood pasta was not bad as well.
