Sloppy and wet, exactly how curry rice is supposed to be. Expect queues at this famous stall, generous with curries when requested for. A comforting meal for those who are too lazy to go to the less accessible Scissors Cut Curry Rice! This came up to less than $4!

When I saw this item on the menu I knew I just had to get it because I love foie gras in any form! The French Affection - Ribeye was a 280g Black Angus Ribeye served with sautéed Spinach and crispy Sweet Potato Chips which hit everything well. It comes at a price tag of $32 and Foie Gras was an additional $6, bringing the dish to $38++ The ribeye was cooked well to a medium rare as requested and the foie gras was a tad small but yummy anyway. Nice place for a relaxing brunch on a Sunday morning, was really quiet and nice and the service was impeccable too!

A highly raved about cafe with higher than normal prices. Boufe definitely has its charm sitting in the middle of the Tanglin area with exclusivity whereby it’s pretty inaccessible without personal transport. But it still draws a steady flow of customers with waiting lists on weekend brunch days. I felt that it was a tad overprices but nonetheless, a check off my cafe bucketlist. This brunch item was made with a base of hashbrowns, steak pieces and cradled with fried to perfection onion rings! Brunch food!

Yummy mala and collagen broth which brought out a lot of flavour for the ingredients ordered. Came up to around $150 for 4 pax which I’d say is a little cheaper than HDL considering I paid $50/pax for HDL. Their beancurd rolls were amazing too! It’s their signature item so do get it!

Head over to Tanuki for a quick lunch with their lunch deals going on everyday from 11.30-3pm! Prices for the rice bowls would be a couple bucks cheaper which I feel is pretty worth it. Got the Truffle Beef Don with a creamy decadent slab of Foie Gras at an additional $5, and it was worth eery single cent. Preparation took awhile but this bowl was really worth the wait! The beef was a tad on the chewier side but it was alright, their signature rice was interesting but the star of the meal had to be that slab of foie gras sitting atop the beef. Exquisite! Was around $19.90++ iirc!

Truffle fries were good; fries were handcut and there was a decent truffle aroma on each fry. Their famous mac&cheese was also pretty yummy though it was a little overbearing so do share it! The calamari was a huge miss, tasted like refrigerated food. In all, Little Diner serves up decent cafe food and normal cafe prices. Was quit when I went on a weekday afternoon and the place was quite nice for a chill afternoon.

The dish was pretty good and unbelievably filling, huuge portions, I’d actually recommend sharing. Got the original one with Japanese white right & I guess you can never go wrong with an original! Their pickles could be better though and the items decorated on the bowl was definitely substantial and filling. Only that weirdlg, it got gelat after awhile unlike it’s other most raved about competitor....tendon lovers should give it a try anyway.

Really popular amongst students due to it being in the vicinity of a number of institutions. Got 2 regular flavours for $6 with a waffle bowl at 90 cents! The Horlicks and Salted Butterscotch was a good choice but it did get a little gelat at the end! Either way, portions were good for the size paid & the ice cream was really yummy too!

Raved & popularized after a feature on Ladyironchef. Sadly, the portion of sashimi seems to have shrunk...portions weren’t as generous as they were before it was popularized. But at $10 nett I guess there isn’t anything to complain about. Some of the sashimi chunks were a little chewy. Worth a try for $10 anyway, but I think Sushiro would still be a better option if not for how far it is away from me 😩

A hole in the wall eatery - took me quite long to find this quaint shop hidden inside another cafe given that Google’s address of 300 Boru was wrong 😂 Reached around 7pm & all the rice dishes were sold out. Ordered 2 bowls of ramen - dry signature mazemen ramen and the cheese one along with 2 of their signature buns. Food took quite some time to come. Sadly, the poorly presented buns were defintely a miss for $2 each. Thankfully, the 2 bowls of ramen made up for it and it was at a really good deal at $6.90 nett per bowl! Definitely go for the Mazemen Dry Ramen, it was amazing & well executed. Took the Level 1 spice & it was a really comfortable level. Chashu was torched well & everything came well together. Noodle kinda tasted like Wonton Noodles actually. The cheese one was abit gelat at the end but nevertheless good & thick, perfect for sharing I’d say. Commendable effort & definitely an affordable place to head to for a quick meal!
