If you look around in this popular dessert shop, it's likely you'll see a bowl (or more!) of this bestselling durian sago on every table. Topped with a generous dollop of bittersweet durian purée, it's not hard to see why this little bowl of smooth creamy goodness is such a crowd pleaser!
On a rainy day like this, nothing spells comfort like a steamy cup of hot matcha latte.
Slippery smooth linguine, a creamy base, earthy mushrooms, cheese shavings, and a soft runny egg to top it all off! This dish is delightful every time and I'm glad it's still available despite a few menu revamps!
Nothing like the thick mushy mee sua that we are all too familiar with, Gastrosmith's mee sua is al dente and bathed in a light but spicy broth generously loaded with mussels, clams and scallops. To be honest the spices may taste a little odd at first, but past a few mouthfuls, the flavors would slowly grow on you.
This doesn't look like the most appetizing thing on earth, but trust me, this Korean version of Thai mookata is SERIOUSLY delicious! Honestly we weren't sure if we were supposed to cook the wagyu beef slices and the assorted mushrooms on the central hotplate first before dunking them into the "river" of broth, or to cook them in the broth directly, so we did a mix of both. Either way, the end results were amazing! We enjoyed the beef so much, we ordered another portion. By the end of all that cooking, the broth had become so thick and sweet, it may not be ideal for slurping up as soup anymore, but it sure is perfect as "gravy" for rice! Two thumbs up!

The problem I have with a lot of Korean fried chicken, is that they tend to taste quite bland once you get past the skin. At Guksu though, this is no issue at all! The lightly battered wings are not only finger-licking delicious on the outside, the flavors extend well into the flesh too! Also mention-worthy is the buttery mashed potato that's included in the platter, which earned high praise from everyone at the table!
That's a rather pretty and interesting presentation for a squid ink dish don't you think? And more importantly, it tastes just as good! I only wish the portion had been bigger! 😋
Tsk, just how many times do they intend to modify the Dashi Risotto? While their efforts to experiment and create new flavors is commendable, it's equally exasperating when each version turns out more disappointing than the previous 😔 I still remember how amazing the original version was, topped with wonderfully crispy fried mushrooms, and it had been the reason I kept revisiting the cafe. Can they bring that back, pleeaaseeeeee?
though this was only because brawn&brains was closed 🙊 And how I regret not having been here earlier! Their hot mocha is awesome, and the matcha latte, though rather sweet, is also one of the best ones I've had. I guess they must use pretty fine quality cocoa and matcha powder here!
A little disappointed with this one, since Miam Miam is pretty popular for their desserts. The taste of chocolate wasn't pronounced enough and the insides were too moist. I did enjoy their matcha latte very much though!
First I have to say the portion is crazy huge. Two palm-sized slabs of pork chops, two perfectly flow-y sunny-side ups drizzled in Dijon sauce and furikake toppings, and finally a side of Peranakan achar salad. The flavors were quite amazing but unfortunately let down by the toughness of the meat.
