Grateful for places that open late! Mama noodles hit the spot late at night. Though their dishes are always a tax sweet. Refreshing lemongrass tea

This is certainly closer to balestier than novena! Was glad to have been recommended this ramen, with gao gao thick delicious soup! Anniversary special $10+ $2 egg + 3 gyoza and green tea set. I couldn’t take most of the chashu cos I don’t take fatty meat but what I could eat was delicious! The gyoza was also pretty amazing, one of the few times when fried gyoza surprised me by being tender and soft! And what a pretty ceramic cup! Really wonder what these flecks are… is it collagen? Someone enlighten me!

I tried it! $6.5 not exactly cheap for a bak chor mee so I was eager to see what’s so special. It was 2 fishballs, 2 med frozen prawns, 2 slice mock abalone, 2 wanton and minced meat. Not really special but I did like the sauce on the noodles, though some may find it too sweet. I actually found the sauce familiar and took me awhile before I realized it tasted like LI XIN, but sweeter. I think I will try the regular sized one next time or try the interesting named Xiang wei soup. They also had a bittergourd soup that they interestingly cooked in a separate pot.
I was actually stuck in a long queue for fishball noodles at the hawker centre when I thought of this and came over. Always liked this coffee shop, less crowded and very accomodating! Glad for another bcm option in the hood!

This ban mian is still such excellent value after so many years! Generous portions and 2 large super fresh sea prawns!

This Hokkien mee was so much better than when I had it a few years ago! Got wok hei, flavourful stock. Haven’t tried it since then cos I eat at the other Hokkien mee stall anyway. But now that it tastes so good, I know where to go when I want a different style!

I caved today. Usually I walk by Nineteen niche and tell myself not to look 😜. Today I went in to get one of their famous pandan chiffon and realised they had reorganised/ refreshed the store to make space for festive orders 👍. Also at the counter I came face to face with the salted egg cornflakes cookies. Since I loved their cornflake cookies (tried them long ago), resistance was futile 🤣. ( still like the original ones better tho).
Ps. The aunties here are the loveliest!

New stall alert! Glad to have another nutritious option in TPY central. First impression of the ABC soup was they give a lot of pork rib and it was super tender fall off the bone! The smallish bowl was deeper than it seemed and it worked out. Good portion and nice value for $5.5! Extra $0.8 for rice. Wish I could play with the utensils steriliser. Ps. I heard people talk abt the vinegar trotters if you wanna try & report back 😜
