It was a surprise to hit the centre of the roll and realise itās bursting with coconut in gula melaka , just like a real ondeh ondeh! That was lovely! The pandan though, was trying slightly too hard
It is indeed a different kinda rendang. Both times when I tabao, the strong authentic curry smell can be detected clearly through the closed tabao boxes & packaging. Meat was super tender, runny centre egg was fried to order and comes with carrot slaw and pineapple. The ikan billis peanut was yummy.
Looking at his setup, and ācos he is fairly new to Toa Payoh, one would think itās a new stall. But uncle has actually been manning the business for more than a decade. Previously he was in maxwell & bukit timah. The many happy customer pictures that line his wall shows how much pride he takes in his work. He says business in Toa Payoh has been disappointing but I tell him itās just these months, quieter everywhere. At $7.5, not exactly cheap⦠but itās cheaper than some nasi padang stalls. And itās hard to find a good beef rendang these days
Curry on, blk 93, toa payoh lor 4 market
Major craving for soup yesterday and was grateful to be able to catch this (their timing doesnāt usually coincide with mine). Excellent value for money still. Does anyone know if this is the same as the restaurant chain of the same name in Marina square? Feel like this is tastier & the price difference..!

Shoutout to the caifan stall that was able to give me this entire meal for $5! And it tasted good too! (Har jeong gai fried chicken, french beans, liver)
This one is run by Kimly, the professional caterers but I have heard of lovely small stallholders (eg lor 7 market) who have maintained their prices especially in consideration of the seniors. Well I was grateful to see it today too, the same meal in cbd wouldāve cost me double. Letās just hope itās not a calculation error š¤£

First time at gspa. Hereās a cheatsheet on the buffet.
-The ayam penyet is undoubtedly the best tasting thing in the house, crispy with sound effects! Size is reasonable
-curry chicken was yummy
- dim sum was so so
- prawn agio olio was ok, somewhat too salty & portion was small. Swopped prawns for special of the day salmon. Donāt order that alone
- the white wheat dessert was nice, similar to pulot hitam in texture
- thereās a vegetarian table on one side that we almost missed!
- all drinks were a tad big sweet, but the coconut doesnāt feel like it had sugar added!

You can help yourself to the fried lard! As well as spring onions, lettuce, vinegar and condiments! Donāt worry, I didnāt go all out, got self control one š¤£. The bak chor mee was ok, the coffee was, as usual , good.

Portion could really be bigger š
First time trying the lor mee. I enjoyed it more than expected! The fish was fresh and crispy š

New stall alert! Was a flavorful bowl of laksa with its own characteristics! Pretty good! Affordable at $4 & add cockles for only $1. It was not enough though ( understandably, hum is expensive these days!) . I wonder how she would react if I add hum x 3 š. She says it is their first time venturing into f& b and I wish them luck!

The cake had great flavor and was light and fresh, not too sweet. Wish the cake could be slightly fluffier š. Coffee comes only in black r white and white comes only with oat meal. Complimentary cookie
