Henry's Ipoh curry, which is based on his mum's recipe uses far less curry powder but with more emphasis on the aromatics like lemongrass, chili, dried shrimp, garlic and shallots.
.
I find the curry broth light but packed with flavors hence easy to drink. The layer of oil on the surface is not as thick as those found on our local curry.

On rainy days like these, donโt you just wish for a bowl of heartwarming noodles? This hearty bowl of curry seafood roasted pork noodles by @yapsnoodles came with an assortment of seafood such as prawns and clams, taupok (bean curd puffs), as well as siobak (roasted pork).
Expect an aromatic rempah-filled rich broth, and somewhat creamy, instead of a lemak one. However, possibly due to the creaminess, it was a little hard to fully soak up the taupok strips. Nevertheless, I liked that I got a combination of seafood and meat, especially when the siobak retained its crispiness of the skin even when it was dunked in the broth. Generous with their ingredients, pretty much a brilliant bowl. You can also request to change noodles to kway teow like we did.
Yishun Park Hawker Center was a rather fresh experience! A very spacious, well ventilated and modern hawker center.

I had the Curry Chicken Noodles (Laksa Noodles), the curry was flavourful, and had a kick of spice but not overwhelming. The noodles were decent but the main star was still the curry.

Love Malaysian curry noodles? Then you must try this if youโre in or near Yishun. For $6.50 I had a big bowl of Malaysian curry noodles full of ingredients such as 2 medium sized prawns, slices of roasted pork, clams, dried pork skins etc. The curry is definitely Malaysian style so donโt expect it to be lemak like ours. The distinct smell of rempah is very appealing to the taste bud. Interestingly thereโs a dry version of the noodles. Hmmmmm wonder if itโs good?

Although there was squid ๐ฆ in the picture on the menu, it was replaced with sea clams. Lots of liao in this dish. Ordered the dry version which had the curry broth with bean curd puff served by the side, so one could adjust the amount of curry broth in the dish which was also more healthy. The thick bee hoon with the chilli paste was addictive.

Ultimate comfort food ๐คค, roast pork just melts in the mouth, curry was mild and creamy which coats the noodles beautifully. Taking a sip of the broth was just heartwarming.
