Yan Lai Ju is another Northeast Chinese restaurant in Vision Exchange serving a wide range of dongbei dishes at affordable prices.

Always enjoy getting 拉皮 and though they look similar, usually the difference lies in the combination of sauces. Yan Lai Ju’s had a distinct nuttiness but glad that the sauce wasn’t too thick, so that it was still refreshing to have. Was only hoping it was a tiny bit spicier! Noodles were still chewy even though it was delivered. It’s a bit pricy for the portion.

Pretty good dumplings with a balanced filling to skin ratio. Though these were delivered, the filling retained its juiciness.

Satisfied the ma la xiang guo cravings using HungryPanda a couple of times before this. They are a delivery service app new to our island and focuses on delivery of Chinese food. Wanted to try something different this time and chose dong bei cuisine from Yan Lai Ju. We ordered pork chives dumplings, chilled century egg tofu and cold potato noodles 东北大皮.

The chilled century egg tofu came in a bigger portion than we expected and was a good rendition as well. It was vinegary and spicy, which kept it appetising.

To be honest, we had a few delivery hiccups this time round (last few times were smooth though), but I must say, that their customer service was friendly and very efficient in resolving the issues. They are offering free coupon ang baos when you sign up and they can be used to offset delivery charges. More details can be found on their page. Really affordable Chinese food! + additional discount if you use chope voucher. My favourites: skewers, Chong Qing grilled fish, dumplings. Don’t forget to try their specialty deep fried taro!
