A tasting size at $4. The true mark of excellence is in the simple cooking, and this passed with flying colours. I know lard and spring onion make everything good, but the seasoning and the noodles here were out of this world. A potential candidate for my last meal.
Although I like XO carrot cake, I almost skipped this since it's usually the same everywhere. I'm glad I didn't because theirs was quite unique. First, there's lots of egg, and you can tell it's prepared separately, so that the ingredients aren't overcooked or taste the same. Second, the pieces of carrot cake were quite chunky, yet were enjoyable, speaking to the confidence of the kitchen.
We ordered this because it's so unique. We didn't regret. It's basically har cheong gai but using fish, and not just factory-made fillets, but real fish with skin, just practically boneless. The hot fillets were then served on a cold, refreshing, citrusy sauce. The pomelo made it even more unique.
