Queued 1hr on the recent public holiday for this viral warabimochi from Japan to understand the hype and it isโ€ฆ understood ๐Ÿ˜‚. But probably not worth the crazy wait in the heat so would say go off peak or to the second outlet where the queue seems shorter.

๐–๐š๐ซ๐š๐›๐ข๐ฆ๐จ๐œ๐ก๐ข (5โญ๏ธ; $7.90) - One of the better textures of mochi available here; soft, lightly chewy and with a melt-in-the-mouth finish. Generously coated with fragrant kinako powder.

For the drinks, we preferred the more unique and refreshing ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฐ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ (4โญ๏ธ; $7.90) with the tangy creamy yogurt balanced with sweet-sour strawberry mochi and puree. The ๐€๐ฌ๐š๐ค๐š๐ฐ๐š-๐ž๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š (3.5โญ๏ธ; $5.90) was aromatic natural-tasting matcha paired with brown sugar chewy mochi. Lo Personally found them to blend less well together than the former. The mochi here was a tad too sweet and overpowered the umami matcha.

They really are good. It's soft yet hadmore bite than normal, it's very voluminous

But honestly, how good can it be? Not worth queueing so long lol. The queue is now reasonable with the opening of their second outlet. It's about 10 ppl long on a weekday night and took about 10-15mins

There's shredded mochi inside, but overall it was meh. Not much body

super nice!! each piece was q big and the mochi was sooo soft and stretchy. the fine roasted soy bean (kinako) powder was fragrant complemented the mochi v well. loved this hehe

(Box of 10 - $14.90) my sister wanted to try their warabi mochi since the opening lol but then it's gotta be crowded bc it's from japan. But the warabi mochi was quite chewy, crunchy and stretchy tbh plus they did cut into big cubes :") so worth it for pricing given. The sauce for it was quite thick texture but not that sweet.

The Asakawa-en Matcha is also decent, but we felt that the earthy matcha flavour was a tad subtle. We figured it might be due to the matcha being overpowered by the milk. Slightly underwhelming considering the bright green hue and that ceremonial grade matcha was being used. ๐Ÿต
