The lighting isnāt very good but the dishes were scrumptious š¤© the braised beancurd ($28) was soft and fluffy, with a generous amount of fresh scallops, fish, and prawns bringing out their seafood sweetness.
As for the āJin Lingā Roast Duck ($48) we opted for the duck meat to be served with our Ee Fu Noodles! this was such a good combination, though i wish the brown sauce was more tasty and sweeter. The duck skin was crispy and flavourful, though the dish was screaming for some scallions. Okayish price (I mean itās a chinese restaurant) with 30% off!
āWhere did the weekends go to?ā.... it must be all the delicious food I had over good conversations.
First it started with the reliable cheese quesadillas from Vatos Urban Tacos to kick off Friday. Nothing like this chain fusion Mexican joint that always serves up tasty and filling tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and even fajitas. With Burpplebeyond savings it gave us another reason to indulge in drinks too.
Then another bout of Latin American cuisine on Saturday evening. When I gladly found out that one of my favourite places in Jewel has reopened and is back on Burpplebeyond.
Sunday lunch at TungLok got us exciting to give their dimsum a chance, away from our usual go to: imperial treasure but sadly this was the only miss out of the 3 consecutive days of Burpplebeyond redemptions. Blame the picky palate so attune to the named competitorās dim sum, i was reeled by (too much) egg in the Malaya steamed cake with an absence of brown sugar fragrance. Then the vegetarian crystal dumplings looked good but wasnāt crystal smooth tasting. Lastly our egg tarts were run out of the mill decent.
($36 if i recall, $9/100g & a min. order of 400g) the main star of the entire meal !!! the prawns were incredibly fresh & the sauce was yummy, more sweet than spicy
($18) interesting texture of noodles ā personally, i prefer ee-fu noodles from canton paradise
($1 each) a crispy texture on the outside but soft on the inside, very lovely when paired together with chili sauce!
($28) a very comforting dish but didnāt really stand out for me
