Not many places serve Dutch Baby Pancake, and they nailed it.

Turn to this cosy cafe in Plaza Damas for hearty food and freshly baked cakes on slow Sunday mornings. Try the famed Dutch Baby Pancakes (RM19) topped with a gorgeous sunny side up, smoked salmon and avocado. Burppler Joey Tee waxes lyrical of its spot-on flavours and the pancake with crispy edges. For a meatier option, get the savoury Australian Roast Rib Eye Sandwich (RM25) loaded with tender, flavourful rib eye slices. You must leave tummy space for their cakes, especially the super moist and buttery No.1 French Butter Cake (RM8).

Nestled in Plaza Damas, this humble cafe known for its hearty hot food also doles out delicious AND healthy cakes worth a visit. Set eyes on the gluten and sugar-free Red Velvet Cake (RM19) — two layers of fluffy cake made with gluten-free ground almond, buckwheat, quinoa and maize, finished off with rich 70 percent dark Belgian chocolate ganache. Another equally delicious option is the intensely chocolatey Flourless Dark Brownie (RM9).

This just might be no.1 in my books for butter cake. Served warm, the cake is incredibly soft (like a pillow) and very very buttery – it’s the perfect cake to turn bad days into good ones.

I was never into red velvet cakes as I always found them too sweet, but this version at Tray is one I really like! Sugar and gluten-free, this red velvet is not sweet at all with the exception of some sugary notes from the dark chocolate frosting. I like the slightly grainy texture of the cake too, not too soft but still providing a nice bite.

It was my first time at Tray Cafe and we ordered Dutch baby pancake, french toast with berries and salted caramel banana cake with walnut crumbles. Dutch Baby Pancakes (rm19) which served with sunny side up, smoked salmon and avocado was just perfect! It was definitely more eggy than the usual pancakes but it’s baked in the cast iron pan, the middle of the pancake was soft and fluffy while the edges were crispy. Really yumm! (Rating: 4.5/5🌟)

The Banana Cake (rm10) was topped with luscious caramel frosting, a sweet and salty caramel sauce, crunchy walnuts! The salted caramel and banana combination were just meant to be! Sinfully good! (Rating: 3.5/5🌟)

Ummm the French Toast (rm20) was a complete disappoint. It was thick and tasteless. The berries were not sweet too :( (Rating: 1/5🌟)
