Tokyo Secret (Johor Bahru City Square)

Adding into the hype of premium cheese tarts is Tokyo Secret. Their tart base tasted very sinful - the fragrance of butter; but stayed crisp and firm until the moment your teeth sink into the tart. The filling was flowy and was not too salty nor sweet. The flowy cheese filling complemented the firm and crisp, yet not too crumbly tart base, which melts in your mouth with every bite taken. It was worth every cent & calorie - limited to only one though.

Personally preferred the Hazelnut x Hanjyuku Cheese Tart, sprinkled with crunchy toasted hazelnut bits that goes well with the creamy chocolate cheese filling.

Although tucked in a corner of JB’s City Square Mall, you will be able to catch whiffs of the buttery fragrance of these tarts from steps away! I preferred the original over the Matcha, which came lined with azuki and a thin layer of mochi at the bottom of the tart. The combination felt a little odd for me (but I'm also not a fan of azuki and there's no warnings of that anywhere), with the cheese flavours being toned down quite a notch. The original tart was tasty with a fluffy cheesy centre!

These were quite good but my heart's still stuck with BAKE, for the buttery and biscuity crust that holds its mousse-like filling well without crumbling too much. 😛
